Hello *waves*

I'm Kristine, my nickname "Froggy" is derived of the fact that I'm French-Canadian (they call us Frogs. It's meant as an insult. Then again, "Nerd" is meant as an insult and I'm proud to call myself a Newbie-Nerdfighter).

I started watching the Vlogbrothers about three months ago and a week and a day before today I started watching them from the start in order. So I think I'm caught up (even though I'm lacking sleep).

I enjoy learning stuff and my brain enjoy retaining only the weirdest of the stuff it can find and forget promptly about the unimportant rest (like how to do math, or what time my lift to go to work comes to get me tomorrow).

I once was in a community that was made of awesome but, sadly, it had started with the Harry Potter books and so when the books ended people kind of drifted apart and I miss that sense of community a lot (I had some of the best times of my life chatting with people I have never seen) so I'll try and remember to come here and make myself a little racing car bed of my own in a corner.

I love Hanks' music and I'll start reading John's books (because they seems interesting) as soon as my sleep deprivation is caught up enough to make my eyes stay on a piece of paper long enough to finish the three books I already have queued up. His are the Fourth in the queue I swear.

Hey folks! Social noob. I'm 19, I'm Scottish (Accent and everything) and former YouTuber. I guess i lost touch with making videos but I've never stopped watching. Ive been a Nerdfighter since '07. It just never really occurred to me to be social within the community.. Recently with TFIOS, and the latest P4A I've just been feeling the nerd fighter vibe more than ever. But I'm here now so hurrah!

Im a musician, see http://facebook.com/ohstooshy You're welcome to give it a 'like' :), a producer, and sometimes i'm a student studying Computer Science at University in Aberdeen. Just want to finally get stuck right into the community. Id love if you checked out my music, and if you ever need someone to produce a record or write you some Java code, I'm your guy!

Musical taste ranges from anything to anything. Queen, Metallica and The Beatles are favourites. Naturally love all of Johns books, but aside from them i'm a big fan of The Catcher In The Rye, The Life of Pi, The Lord of the Flies, and The Great Gatsby. Bit of a film buff too, favourite actors include Al Pacino (Scarface, Donnie Brasco, Serpico), Christian Bale (The Fighter, American Phycho) and for the funnies Steve Carrell (The Office, 40 Year Old Virgin). When i do watch TV it tends to be for comedy. Love both the UK and US versions of The Office (UK wins though!), The Big Bang Theory, Scrubs.. the usuals!

Anyway. Im rambling. Cant wait to talk to you guys.

Hello! My name is Emily! I'm an 18 year old from the land of 10,000 lakes. :) Very exciting over here. haha. Anyway, I've just recently found the vlogbrothers and am in the process of watching all the videos. I saw them a couple of years ago, but never really got into it until recently. 

I'm currently in college, and undecided as far as a major goes. Hoping to change that soon, I'd like to work with horses some how, so I'm trying to make that work.

Other than that, some of my favorite books include The Harry Potter Series,The Hunger Games, The Birth of Venus, Will Grayson, Will Grayson. Looking for Alaska, and Paper Towns. I also just finished One Day and that was quite good. I enjoyed it.

I'm not really a movie person, but The Notebook runs among my favorites. As well as Tangled and the Titanic. (Romance movies, much?)

Anyway. :) Just thought i'd introduce myself.

Uhm... hi, I'm Gnolch.

I only got to know about the Vlogbrothers and Nerdfighters about a month ago when my best friend introduced me to all of it. And now I felt the need to join this because of the short story contest I found out about by accident. I'm not expecting that my chances to do well in that contest are high since I'm not a native speaker and haven't even been to any English speaking country before, but I'd still love to just participate and get some feedback on my writing.

I'm a Philosophy student (and from autumn on hopefully also a CompSci student) from Germany and I'm 20 years old. I'm not sure if I want to consider myself a nerd because I feel like there's currently this trend going on with all kinds of people suddenly wearing huge glasses and identifying as nerds because they think it's cool. I don't really view myself as a nerd, though some of my interests and having advanced a year in school probably kind of make me one.

Now, why I feel a little uncomfortable with the term is that I've mostly been friends with nerdy teens back in high school and now I'm puzzled seeing people from my year identify as nerds when back then, they used to bully those nerdy kids for liking physics and chemistry kits more than mobile phones or brand name clothing. Might not help that over here, people still call those uncool nerds "Streber" (the German word for nerd), whilst calling all "cool" kinds of nerds the English word. So over here, it's become high fashion to be a nerd, but still totally embarassing to be a Streber. This just doesn't make sense to me, and I hate it.

Oh well, I better stop ranting before you all get tired :P

I neatly filled out all the description fields on my page, so I'll be happy if any of you are willing to read that to get to know me a little :)

So, I'm Avery...Introducing myself to all of you awesome people. I've known of nerdfighteria for over 2 years, but I was afraid of being blinded by the coolness (am i being ironic?) of everyone here... and I was worried about the forum taking over my life, because I thought that my JG addiction would lead to a NF addiction, but then I figured out that I was bored, and so I'm joining.

Lit nerd, geo nerd, anth nerd, food nerd, grammar aficionado. I am a California college student, and an english major, so I am prepared for a long life in the barista business, because we all know you can't make money writing. I am a supporter of the Oxford Comma. My political views are ironic. I can fence, and my favorite sport is competitive cupcake throwing.

I haven't read TFiOS yet because I'm getting my copy signed on the 27th in Redwood City. But I'm in a state of perpetual surprise that I get to meet the brothers. And have them sign my chicken purse... more on that later.

It's unbelievably nice to be here.
