I'm reading The Wish Maker by Ali Sethi, and I just finished Rescuing the Bible from Fundamentalism by John Shelby Spong. I've just started TWM, but I like it, and Rescuing the Bible is a wonderful book that really helps open your eyes to how Christianity is not one monolithic thing.
those both sound interesting. thanks.
Hello Hello! I am a new nerdfighter! I love the vlog brothers, and if that makes me a nerd then sign me up! I like reading books, and am actually really excited to have new book suggestions from this site because I'm always looking for good books! I love music and movies and all things that are good.
welcome! there are awesome recommendations floating around. and lots of chances to talk about what you love with with made of awesome people who share said interests.
Oh hi. I'm Alicia. I'm new here. Howdy.
hi Alicia! welcome!
what brought you to the ning?
awesome stuff, and welcome. so how did you learn of your Nerdfighterian identity.
and awesome to have you here.
Well, let's see. My name is Cara and I was introduced by a friend who told me about it and I became interested.
I have been a Theater/book nerd all my life. My dad is a pianist and a singer and I was involved in theater at a very early age and my mom is a major book nerd and I learned how to read pretty much before I learned to walk (well...not really...but something like that).
Later on, I became interested in cartoons and would watch them endlessly. My favorites have to be Sailor Moon (anime, but still a favorite), TMNT, and X-Men.
I love movies and the like, but at the moment my current obsession is Phantom of the Opera. I mean, I pore of that stuff. Fanfiction, I saw the musical when I turned 13, I own my favorite version of the movie (the 25th anniversary musical with Ramin as the Phantom). Just.... Ah. I think I annoy people with how much I love it.
I also love history. I've always loved history. It may be a weird thing to love, but I adore reading about history. Historical fiction is my favorite genre of books. And I watch countless documentaries on various historical times.
I don't want to make this too long...so I'm also a piano girl (been playing since 2003), a roleplayer, and I cosplay every year.
Um...yeah. So that's it. ^-^
awesome Cara and welcome to the ning!
i actually have threads on this, but which TMNT & X-Men?
Hahaha yes. 90s X-Men and I like both 80s and 2000s TMNT. However, I grew up on 2000s and also the live action movies. I haven't watched much of the 80s one because I don't know where to find it.
know how the searching goes.
and (despite... or maybe because of their increasing corniness) i love the movies.
