can understand that
Hello Nerd Fighters!
I just joined up today after starting to watch the Brotherhood 2.0 2009 videos from the beginning. I'm currently on June 3rd. I was originally introduced to the Green brothers via Crash Corse which I enjoy very much. Then my wife got a new book for us to read( my wife and I take turns reading books aloud to each other) and to my amazement it was "A Fault in Our Stars" by John Green. And I was like hey that's the guy from Crash Course. After finishing this amazing book I decided to watch all things Green brothers.... so that's how I got here. I still have so much more Vlogbrothers to watch so if I seem quiet assume that's what I am doing.
A guess a little about myself. I'm originally from Seattle, but now live in Houston, TX where I am employed as a mechanical design engineer. As I mentioned before I have a wife, and we live with our two dogs. Deciding what type of Nerd Fighter you are is so hard. If I had to pick one thing above all it would be video game nerd, but with a heavy mixing of TV nerd and engineering nerd.
Anyways I am happy to join and look forward to getting to know y'all. I do have a project in the works and I will post more about it when I know more about it.
Hey there Scott, and welcome to the Ning! :D
Liking the site so far? :)
is an undertaking...but it's awesome of you to want to see everything, and to go ahead and join here Scott.
Hi I'm Ruth, I'm eighteen years old and I live in London. I'm very nerdy about many things, including, but not restricted to, Harry Potter, Arrested Development, Pingu, The Great Gatsby (oh, the contrast), Wallace and Gromit, Tamora Pierce...oh, so much. If it's remotely geeky and I can understand it (my knowledge of science is pretty limited, sadly, but I love literature-related stuff) then I'll probably take a shine to it. I joined the site last year after having the Vlog Brothers recommended to me but school and stuff meant that I've only just started logging on properly. One of the reasons is that I can't seem to get lines from 'The Fault in Our Stars' out of my head, and it really made me want to get online and meet John Green fans. I definitely plan on reading the rest of John's work, I'm most excited about 'Looking for Alaska' because I've loved the quotes from there I've seen on Tumblr. I already love the site, and I love to meet new people so feel free to drop me a line if you want to talk. In my experience nerdy friends are the best, and I have too few, way too few.
Hey there Ruth, and welcome back to the Ning! :D
Hope you still find the community as appealing as ever after a long while away :)
As always, DFTBA!
welcome (back) Ruth. don't worry too much about your timing
How's that for an introduction post? :D
Hey there Hadar, and welcome to the Ning! :D
So, how did you discover Nerdfighters? :)
Thank you for the warm welcome :)
I started watching Hank and Johns videos on Youtube and it was mentioned many times throughout them.
So I decided to check what all the fuss was about. Decreasing world-suck sounds like a good cause to fight for.
Don't worry IWFTBA (I won't forget to be awesome)
I'm relatively new, I guess. Bit of a lurker... I love it here!
I'm the English-nerd around these parts, I guess. And Dutch, which is my native language. (my parents proudly tolerate it, if there is such a thing)
I became a nerdfighter less than a month ago... I don't remember the video. Is that bad? It was John though. And all of the related videos were also John's and all of the related ones on those were also John's and I just thought...
"Where the eff is Hank?"
Oh! Oh! I remember now, I got there through Charlieissocoollike's video about vidcon.
Then I watched the essential videos and I remember somehow getting a kick out of watching John walk around Amsterdam, which is the city of my birth and the one that I love most and will go back to once I get an actual job. And then I came here, and I discovered that whilst this place is awesome, that same awesomeness intimidated me enough to keep me (mostly) quiet. Until now.
I love Sherlock and Doctor Who and I'm easily captivated by science but the practise of it confounds me to the point of despair. Same thing with math. Oh. And I write... stuff. I'm very passionate about that. And terrified by it.
So... that's it! Hello fellow nerdfighters!
Hello Dominique, and welcome to the Ning! :D
So, what do you usually write about? :)
