a fellow Nerdfighter just reminded me of the importance of influence in decreasing worldsuck... but somehow manipulating a person's mind like that seems like it would cross a line.

OK, so this is a different posting format than I'm used to, so I hope I'm doing it right. :p

My name is Addison, and despite having been an avid viewer of Hank and John's videos for several years, I've never actively "participated" in Nerdfighteria until just now, probably on account of my crippling shyness. So I figured I would finally throw myself out there in the hopes that I would meet some cool, smart people. :D

I don't remember how, exactly, I stumbled upon the vlogbrothers channel, just that it was a long, long time ago, in a galaxy that is not very far away unless you consider coterminous dimensions that exist in parallel to our own to be or contain their own galaxies, and also if you consider them to be far away, in a temporal sense, and that was only supposed to be a brief reference but I started ranting and now I've gone beyond the joke so I'll stop because this has become a horrific run-on sentence and I would be ashamed if, say, John were to see it. Please, nobody tell him.

I like heavy metal, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, and writing heavy metal songs about My Little Pony Friendship is Magic. Seriously. Also I just noticed that I can italicize things. I'd better go back and italicize My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic... there, that's better.

Probably not the best first impression I could have made, but there it is. I look forward to getting to know you guys. :)
