My niece read The Fault in our Stars, and then my sister read it, and she told me I had to read it, and I did, and I loved it, and I laughed and I cried, and it's the best book I've read all year. Since I review for a book site, that's saying something. And then not too much later, I made the connection that those John Green videos that I had seen popping up on friends' FB pages were the same John Green, and then I realized there was a channel, and I started watching the crash course videos and now I've gone back and have watched all of Brotherhood 2.0, as sort of a training program to become a real nerdfighter. My goal is to watch all of the videos.
And yes, I feel like I have found my people. My tribe. My community.
Hey Ruth, and welcome to the Ning! :D
How's your Nerdfighteria experience coming along? :)
As always, DFTBA!
seriously. thanks for the warm fuzzies. welcome, and all the best on our viewing goal. i actually have a simmilar one.
My name is Jessica, I live in Springfield, Missouri. I love History, and therefore am doing the only logical thing, becoming a History teacher. Also I love reading, crochet, Doctor Who, all things Joss Whedon, My Little Ponies, and other randomly nerdy things. So ummmm....yeah.
Also found the Vlogbrothers because of Charlieissocoollike videos.
Hi! Who's your favorite pony? (mine's Fluttershy)
Also, who's your favorite Doctor?
Pinkie Pie, and the 11th regeneration, because they are both kooky and so am I.
Hi there Jessica, and welcome to the Ning! :D
So, how's your Nerdfighter experience so far, fellow History lover? :)
welcome Jessica! have you checked out the groups?
I'm a college kid in Kent, Ohio who loves art and writing and theater and science and has no idea what to do with her life. Basically the plan right now is: finish college, and take all the classes that sound interesting. Do crazy fun stuff like write and produce plays and do experiments and sculpt zombie parts.
I had this kinda weird epiphany lately that I shouldn't worry about the post-college future, because if I discover something that I really want, I can get it then. Right now I want to finish the play I'm working on, and storyboard for the zombie musical my friends and I are working on. I want to do stand-up comedy at the Euro Gyro or the Stone Tavern even though it's kinda sheisty and you only get paid in beer. And I want to be a part of great things, and meet great people. Nerdfighters, I've discovered, are great people, and I want to meet more of them.
I recently watched John Green's video that was like a reunion between him and his college friends, and they all became something different than what they thought they might've been. And it was really encouraging, because they all ended up doing something they're passionate about, even though it's different than what they thought they wanted.
So whether I become a tattoo artist on Venice Beach, or a set designer in New York, or a wandering poet in Reykjavik (who has, like, a day job at a grocers or something) I feel like I can be okay with it.
A lot of John's videos are encouraging, or thought-provoking. Anyway, I just wanted to say hi. What are your favorite vlog brothers videos? And what's your favorite poem?
Hey there Lucy, and welcome to the Ning! :D
So, how did you discover Nerdfighteria? :)
Fav vlogbrothers video: Nerd Jokes

I'm Kathleen, just poking my head into the Nerdfighter game after years of watching the Vlogbrother's videos. I'm just been too shy! So hello, everyone! I like photography (if anyone has any photo blogs they follow, please let me know! I'm interested in getting inspiration), books and movies. Science fiction and horror are my two favorite genres. My room is decked out in basically everything I like. Do any of you have tumblrs?
