Omegle freaks me out. First there's the whole anxiety while you wait to start the conversation, and then the people always seem to be creepy. I've tried avoiding this by starting the conversation with "Are you familiar with John and Hank Green?" or something nerdfighter related, but it has consistently failed.

Any success? Other fails?

So I read part of this thread, and decided I should go there. My first two conversations? Don't say anything, just disconnect. Jerks.

My third was a Chinese guy studying electrical & information engineering, but he didn't want to. Sadly, because he was in year 3 it was too late to change majors. I am succeeding in imagining him complexly! John would be proud!

I've started my conversations with DFTBA?! 11 times, and each time I was disconnected with.
I've given up.

I did that for maybe three hours my first time trying it. A few people asked what it meant and thought it was cool, but then when I said I'm looking for Nerdfighters they disconnected.

I once spent several hours straight trying to find a nerdfighter. I kid you not, the VERY first person I didn't ask right away "are you a nerdfighter" turned out to be a nerdfighter.

We started talking about music. They asked what kind I liked, and I said weird music that nobody's ever heard of. They asked what. I said Chameleon Circuit. They said "wait, those guys on youtube?" I said "Yeah, you know them?!" they said "Yeah!" and I asked if they knew who the vlogbrothers were, and they said yes.

It was pretty awesome.

That's the closest I've come to a NF encounter.
