Online Whedon Gathering

Wouldn't it be cool if nerdfighters could do a big online event so that people in different countries could participate. I really like Joss Whedon and I have this idea of having a big Joss Whedon marathon that everyone does separately or with a few friends offline but at the same time are doing it with the nerdfighter community online. So it would work as a time being set at which everyone would start watching the first episode of Buffy or Firefly (we would have to choose) and when it finishes or while its on, come online and talk about it for a bit. After an amount of time we move on to the next episode and then the episode after that so on and so forth. I think this would be a really good way for Whedon obsessed nerdfighters to meet/bond and I would love any suggestions.

I am thinking that since everyone is in different countries  we could start the episodes at the following times of day for different people on Saturday night/Sunday morning:
Australia Melbourne- 7am Sunday 1st of August
USA West Coast - 2pm Saturday 31st of July
USA East Coast - 4pm Saturday 31st of July
England - 10pm Saturday 31st of July

The Greenwich mean time of the event will be Saturday 31st of July 9pm so if you don't live in the areas above use that to calculate what time the event will start for you.

We will be watching Buffy the Vampire slayer 'Welcome to the Hellmouth' first and then an hour after the start time we will watch Firefly 'Serenity' (the pilot not the movie). I will post links to these episodes later in the week, the 15 minute gap or so between episodes will allow for a little bit of conversation but also by starting on the hour both times it will make it easier for people who only want to watch one of either Buffy or Firefly.

We will be using a private chatroom on nerdfighter chat (thankyou to all the people who tried to help with meebo but I think this will be easier), can't wait to see you all there and remember to tell any of your friends who might be interested

Can I suggest that whoever makes the room should make the icon be the pink elephant. Because (1) we'll have a pink elephant in the room, which is something I've always wanted to say, and (2) it's a little puppy-sized elephant

Yeah I think we may have to alternate the times so that in a fortnight we only get one really late night for those in england and one really early morning in Australia, and I love the pink elephant idea (puppy sized elephants yay)

I think that means you are near new orleans (sorry I don't really know american geography) and google world clock says that would make it 4:00pm on Saturday 31st of July for you but you might want to check because I may have got it wrong

Question about the Meebo -- I made an account and everything, but when I go to the Rooms page, all I can see is where I can start my own room. How do you get into rooms that have already been made??

I will attempt to friend you guys when I get a different internet connection (school is blocking meebo) Thank you for your support as well and yes if this doesn't work we might just use a private room in chat it sounds a lot simpler

I have found the first episode of buffy on youtube, but am still looking for the episode of firefly online. Worst comes to worst you may have to buy this episode on itunes (I am really sorry) but it is only $3 and it is an hour and a half long so you definitely get your moneys worth. Fingers crossed we do not have this issue with any of the other episodes it is just because of this episode's length that I am finding it hard to get a full length version we can watch. If you don't want to buy the episode, that is fine, I understand and I hope you will still join us for the buffy episode which is first and I will post the links on the chat.
