I went and got myself saddled with the whole health care/insurance thing for a topic for a research paper in my English class, and i haven't got the slightest idea where to start looking for proper information on health care insurance or whatever is the equivalent in other countries outside the US. Heck, I'm not even sure where to find the U.S. stuff out! Can anyone tell me where i can find information about this??
I'm looking in my College's databases and stuff, but this is really driving me to distraction. :(

I'm afraid I have no idea. I had a similar problem when writing a paper on the most efficient energy source for the Sudan or the UK. I had HUGE gaps in the information...

well that stinks. You would think that information would be easier to come by thanks to the good old internet, but finding reliable sources is so difficult. Ironically, my last essay was to be on alternative power sources.

Probably the best place to start is to look att he original documents themselves. Try and lookup the stuff they are trying to get through congress in its original form, then find comparable bills and documents in other countries.
From there you'll be able to see the main differences and interesting topics, and then you can research those things with a much more narrowed search, on any search engine.
It shouldn't be too hard to find the actual documents on google.
I haven't tried, though.

I'm looking at Wikipedia as a sort of starting place and figure out that the term i was looking for was 'universal health care'... in case anyone else ever needs to look up this kind of information. I'm finding better stuff that way, but you can't really cite Wikipedia as authouritative....
haha i feel silly now for not figuring this out sooner. Thank you everyone for your help!

You can't cite wikipedia, but wikipedia cites sources at the bottom of each article, and you can cite those.

Try the office of your congressman. Sometimes that can be helpful, especially if they think you are a registered voter.

have you tried to google it or anything I'm sure you could find some good news articles to help you get started.
