REAL Men Don't Sparkle.

I hate Edward Cullen.
He wears turtleneck sweaters, for crying out loud!

Who is your idea of a real(fictional) man?

For me its Ron Weasley, he is . . . amazing.

Fred and George are real men.

As are James, Sirius and Lupin.

In addition to the turtlenecks, he has a beige leather jacket.
Come on, if a vampire is going to wear a leather jacket is must be black.

Johnny Cash is definitley a real man, as are John Wayne and Clint Eastwood, and quite a few other cowboy - types.

Indiana Jones is, and Rocky/Rambo is (not so much Sylvester Stallone, due to the amount of cosmetic surgery).

Earl on My Name is Earl! Also Frank. And Randy!

And Kenny is also a real man, and Teddy DuChamp and Chris Chambers. And John Green!

That being said, they're ALL men, in their own way. They have their good points, but what generally keeps a reader intriqued in a character is his/her flaws. It provides a source of conflict and keeps the story moving. Besides, I would only want to punch an author if they portrayed any humanoid character as perfect. Maybe that's why Bella annoyed me so much when I was reading the Twilight series. Edward was clearly flawed, but she was too busy swooning over his good looks to notice. I thought Meyer's other project, The Host, was so much better.; ▶ Reply to This
