Nerdfighters

I'm part of a collab channel in which I post my reviews of fantasy books on Thursdays.
(Shameless Self-Promotion)

And so I would like to know what fantasy books nerfighters recommend!
It can be anything at all, in terms of fantasy. Vampire, werewolf, faery, plain ol' magic.
The particular sub-category matters not.

So, what do you like?

Anything from Neil Gaiman, for sure, but I think I already saw someone mentioning him.
I fell in love with Terry Brook's books, The Heritage of Shannara series. He has written many books about Shannara but I've only read those four.

Eragon by Christopher Paolini are wonderful. I just finshed the third one, and it's hard having to wait for the last installment.
I also read this book yesterday, called "Marked" by P.C and Kirsten Cast. It's a vampire novel, but the world is a little different. I liked it a lot, even though I'm not really a Vampire fan.

I agree, it's hard to wait for the fourth installment in the Inheritance series.
I've loved reading them from the very beginning, and seeing how much more mature his writing became as he grew older.

Exactly. But even though it sucks, good things are worth waiting for. And it really can't be that long left, right? I mean he must have already been a bit into it when he sent the first draft of Brisingr in. Hopefully we'll see it on the shelves within six months or something ^^,)

Neil Gaiman! I think someone already recommended him, but thats okay because he's an awesome writer.
Also, Realms of Fantasy, its not a book its a magazine so I don't know if that counts. But it as awesome fantasy short stories in it and theres some book recommendations in the magazine. So if you interested you should check it out. I'm not sure if all stores have it, I usually just find it at the library but you could get a subsribtion online if you wanted to.

I can't stop reccomending Scott Lynch. He writes the Gentleman Bastard series. The first one is The Lies of Locke Lamora by far the most amazing book I have read in awhile. Definately a must read.

I think someone probably said this already but I'm not sure. Libba Bray's Gemma Doyle trilogy is very good. Also secret sister Maureen's book Devilish.
