So, yesterday marked the end of yet another school year, and today marks the first full day of summer vacation. Well, for me. Then I have this cousin who still has 2 weeks to go, and my friend who got out 2 weeks ago. This doesn't seem like summer to me anymore...it just seems like a lot of wasted time. Then I got thinking...why waste it? I compiled a list of some goals...
-Read 50 books all consisting of at least 150 pages. (Ok, I can go through 3 of those a day. Let's make it 200.)
-Learn to play Jar Of Hearts on piano...that will be a challenge, as I do not currently own a piano.
-Learn ASL. Something I've been wanting to do for a while now, in an attempt to go half of a school year without speaking...which, won't happen, as then everybody else would have to...yeah.
-Leave behind 1,000 Operation Beautiful post-its all saying different things. 0 down, 1,000 to go! :D
-Have a goal that I'm 97% positive I will be unable to achieve this summer, and strive to achieve it as if my life depends on it... Well, that's obvious. Adopt a yearling filly from the BLM.
-Get my weight back down to 90 lbs using -non- harmful methods...as in, the opposite of harmful methods.
-Get a rat. Actually, 2 rats. I would name them Scabbers and Templeton, but local pet stores sell only females. So, Tina and Cinnamon it would be.
-Go veggie for the month of July.
-Take a totally random photo every day of the summer and write a poem to go with it. :)
-Get my ears re-pierced. And possibly my eyebrow...
-Say yes to every single question...even if it's like, 'Hey, wanna have sex?' or 'Want some milk?', because just because you say yes to something, doesn't mean you mean it. :)
-Get those purple contacts that do absolutely nothing to me but make my eyes look all purple and whatnot. :D
-Dye my hair redd. Yes. That's right, redd.
-Don't die. That's a really important one.
Do you have a list of unusual, strange, ridiculous, or totally normal summer goals? I'd love to steal your ideas and add on to my list! :D
Permalink Reply by Jordan on June 14, 2012 at 7:13am My goals are pretty much fitness related since I am a varsity rower.
By September:
General:
Video blog at least once per week.
Pretty much just ways to keep myself busy.
Oh jeez, this summer is going to be awesome if I manage to do all of mine!
- Find an actual Nerdfighter in the flesh (that isn't my friend of course that would be cheating).
- Obtain a Uke and figure out how to play it.
- Get dreadlocks.
- Do something similar to VEDA for one month of the summer.
- Get crabs... and not of the sexual variety. I mean, legitimate pet crabs.
- Go to a musical festival and meet some cool people.
- Leave a Nerdfighter note in one of John Green's books.
- Find a Nerdfighter note in one of John Green's books.
- Go Geocatching (I think that's what it's called).
Yeeeah. That's all I can think of right now.

-get back to a regular update schedual for my stories.
-Cut my hair (which is currently crazy long) to crazy short.
-Turn my IRL friends into nerds
-read the massive pile of books I haven't gotten around to yet.

Permalink Reply by Jordan on June 15, 2012 at 4:04pm In case you needed extra assistance, there's a free app for iPods called C25K (Couch to 5K), and it might help you train for cross-country. I'm planning on using it to train for rowing.
Permalink Reply by Lisa Ann on June 18, 2012 at 8:26am I'm doing a C25K program right now, actually. It took me three different programs before I found one that would work for me.
Permalink Reply by Chaelin Weasley on June 15, 2012 at 7:25pm Huh, this is a good idea:
-Win Camp NaNoWriMo
-Plan out my leprechaun story to be ready to write by August
-Be positive
-Read! As many books as I possibly can
-And watch every Vlogbrothers video in order.
Permalink Reply by Lisa Ann on June 18, 2012 at 8:26am It took me eight months, a four a five a day to watch every vlogbrothers video without blowing my bandwidth. Good luck!
Permalink Reply by Chaelin Weasley on June 18, 2012 at 8:27pm :) Well, it's my Camp NaNo reward. But then I'll have something to do for the rest of the year!
