Sci Fi, Fantasy, or Both?

I'm doing some research on fantasy and science fiction and comparing the two, and I think it's crazy how many people can love one but not the other, and I wanted you alls opinion. So what do you think - are you a sci fi fan, a fantasy fan, or both and tell me why!

I like SciFi (Ender's Game, The Giver,Stargate, ect) because I like to imaging what lfe would be like in the stories they depict, even if they are "worse" (not the perfect word) than reality.

Permalink Reply by Snozdy on April 18, 2009 at 7:16pm: I'm not sure. I do love some sci-fi, Doctor Who for example. But the sci-fi I like tend to be those political, futuristic books/films like 1984, V for Vendetta and A Brave New World. I'm not one for Star Trek or anything too sci-fi like that.

But then there's epics like Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit. Eragon too I suppose. I do enjoy a well written book filled with elves and dragons, magic and swordcraft.
