Nerdfighters

This is as simple as.

Red= Strongly Disagree
Orange= Just Disagree
Yellow= More Disagree than Agree
Green= Neutral on the subject
Light Blue= More Agree than Disagree
Blue= Just Agree
Purple= Strongly Agree

Someone will comment on a subject, lets take Euthanasia for example, and others will reply with a colour that corresponds to their view.
Oh, added to that, a comment or reason for the colour is always nice.

RIGHT.
YOU HEARD THAT.
WELL, YOU BETTER GET STARTED NOW!
CHOP, CHOP.

And, to be completely unimaginative, why don't we with Euthanasia.

Light blue. I'm too capitalist for my own good.

Very much orangey yellow on that subject, there can be a few exceptions.

I'm extremely confused... What "benefits" do alcoholics get?

But since I'm replying to you:

Capital Punishment: Red

Euthanasia - red

Tax exemption for religious organizations - Purple because churches are organized to sustain themselves on small donations (tithes and offerings) from their congregation. They aren't making a profit, all of the money that goes in the offering is suppose to pay the bills for the church and give the pastor a salary so that he can support his family. The rest is suppose to go into ministry and charity efforts. I know some pastors abuse this sort of thing but a large majority of them don't. Taxes would crush small churches that can barely pay the bills anyway.

The alchoholics thing - Orange

Anarchy - Yellow; we need some sort of law, and often anarchy leads to chaos. But an overbearing government that has it's hand in everything is totally unneccesary.

Euthanasia red? Do explain dear.

red on euthanasia? clearly you've never had to watch a close family member or a friend slowly waste away due to a degenerative disease, living each and every of her last days in incredible agony.

I'm red on euthanasia and I've witnessed my closest family remember go through a terrible illness, so you shouldn't make such generalization. My grandfather had pancreatic cancer, which is probably the worst form of cancer anyone could have. It would've been a lot easier if the doctors just gave him a pill and that "ended" his pain, but even though he was in pain, he still wanted to be with his family. I personally would go through whatever pain there was in the world if it meant I could see my loved ones for one more day.

we aren't talking about forced euthanasia, we're talking about terminal patients being allowed to choose to end their own lives. if your grandfather wanted to wait it out, great for him, but there are plenty of other terminally ill people who don't think that their last few days are worth the pain, and they should have every right to not go through it.

I am very sorry to hear that, your grandfather is one brave soul.

I just wanted to add that in the UK, assisting someone who wants to commit suicide, mainly in a center in Zurich, can lead to prosecution and sometimes a prison sentence. Obviously it is very rare to find a judge who has a black enough soul to carry it through, but there is always that threat. It is mainly why I wish euthanasia to be more accessible and for those helping to be avoid of certain threats. In fact, just recently the laws on Euthanasia were going to change, unfortunately they did not pass, however that is going into a subject i know little about. There were some very good reason against the laws, sending out the wrong message and such.

Death penalty- red

none of that bleeding heart, "all life is sacred" crap here. I'm against the death penalty for a couple reasons, the main one being that not everyone we execute is guilty. in my opinion, If in the past 200 years we've wrongly executed even a single person, then the death penalty should be done away with. and we've wrongly executed more than just 1 person.

Death penalty- yellow: I feel it is wrong, but there are more pressing matters that eventually filter down to the death penalty that would need consideration before there is a major change in death penalty policy.

My topic: Stem Cell Research- Purple: The major ethical concerns surrounding Stem Cell Research are mostly biased opinion that is based on either insignificant facts or misinformation all together. Research in this area has benefits for medicine that no other study seems to have. It would be a shame for such promising research to be terminated due to ignorance. Not to mention progress would be a much straighter path if government regulation was less of a problem too.
