Nerdfighters

This is as simple as.

Red= Strongly Disagree
Orange= Just Disagree
Yellow= More Disagree than Agree
Green= Neutral on the subject
Light Blue= More Agree than Disagree
Blue= Just Agree
Purple= Strongly Agree

Someone will comment on a subject, lets take Euthanasia for example, and others will reply with a colour that corresponds to their view.
Oh, added to that, a comment or reason for the colour is always nice.

RIGHT.
YOU HEARD THAT.
WELL, YOU BETTER GET STARTED NOW!
CHOP, CHOP.

And, to be completely unimaginative, why don't we with Euthanasia.

Green to that too.

Controlled Anarchy?

Too much of an oxymoron?

I'd be orange. It's a nice idea, but it wouldm't work.

Capital punishment - orange again

Oh this is tricky,
I will have to say yellow.

I'm not a fan. Glad we don't have it over here :¬D

Capital punishment - Blue because people who murder and stuff don't deserve to have us pay for them to take up room in a prison for the next seventy years and knowing that there's a serious price for your actions should keep more people from killing and such.

true but I think prison would be more of a punishment than death.

Hardening prisons so prisoners have no luxuries like TVs, the food is barely edible, rooms are cramped etc - purple

I'm sure they were thinking about treating humans humanely when they decided to murder them

what about people in prison for stuff like tax fraud? should they have to live in the same hell as murderers? or should we build separate facilities for each class of felony? but that sounds kind of expensive, so maybe we should just give the guards free reign to treat the prisoners as they see fit. that sounds like a good solution.

sorry, but not matter what happens to prisoner behind bars, its not gonna undo the crimes they committed. what we should do is train them in a trade, or give them access to college classes, and have the state help them find employment when they get out. that way we can avoid the same people getting sent back to prison again and again.

Ooo, very, very nice.

I'm with ya on that.

It costs more to go through the ten million appeals before you can kill someone than it does to just feed them in prison for the rest of their lives, on average. So the money argument makes no sense.

Further, Texas has both the highest capital punishment rate and one of the highest murder/violent crime rates in the states, so the prevention argument kinda falls apart, too.

There's just no reason for capital punishment beyond petty revenge.

Purple on capital punishment. I understand the argument that "it's more punishment to spend your life rotting in jail". A prisoner on life sentence has no opportunity to get out and do something useful with their life. "More punishment" will not do anything to undo what the person did. Just kill them if they're never going to get out.
I do think that the criteria for death penalty should be very strictly scrutinized so that only those deserving of death receive it.
