Death penalty- yellow: I feel it is wrong, but there are more pressing matters that eventually filter down to the death penalty that would need consideration before there is a major change in death penalty policy.

My topic: Stem Cell Research- Purple: The major ethical concerns surrounding Stem Cell Research are mostly biased opinion that is based on either insignificant facts or misinformation all together. Research in this area has benefits for medicine that no other study seems to have. It would be a shame for such promising research to be terminated due to ignorance. Not to mention progress would be a much straighter path if government regulation was less of a problem too.

not to go into specifics (because there are a lot of them), but it is mostly because I feel like something as micromanaged as the death penalty shouldn't be a prime concerne when the whole correctional institution, I think, needs reform.

I just think it would be more beneficial to change the system as a whole rather than just the details of the current system. Problem is, I'm not sure what we would change it too. "Such as?" was a good question.

I think the reform that needs to be done is within the justice system as well. Most people in prison are there for drug penalties and there is obviously still problems with institutionalized racism. How is the United States more than 70% White, but the US prisons are filled with minorities? Is it because minorities are the only ones committing crimes or is it because minorities are the ones most likely to get arrested? I'm going with the latter on that one. Honestly, the whole system is morally bankrupt and the death penalty isn't the only problem here.

well black and Hispanics in america do commit more crimes than white people, but im gonna blame their neighborhoods more than anything.

The problem with the FBI statistical information according to this talk is that hispanics are also included under the category "white". Either way, white people would still commit the most crimes.
