Side Image Problem

When I joined the Ning, I immediately started to work on my profile. The only problem is I can't get a side image to show up when I customized. My header image immediately showed up, and I haven't got a side image to work the whole time I've had a profile. The bars on the side stay the default blue. Does anyone have any hints on how I can solve this problem?

I'm looking into it. Hank used CSS directly to get the layout done rather than using the Ning interface. I assume that's why your profile settings have trouble overwriting it.
However, if I'm not mistaken, profile CSS settings can overwrite the general CSS settings.

So if you go to your appearance settings and click through to the advanced tab, insert the following line somewhere in the CSS:

body {background: url(http://www.urlofwhateveryouwantto.be/yourbackgroundimage.jpg) center; }

And just replace the fake url there with the url of your image. I hope that works, if not, I'll look further.

Thank you so much! I got it to work after I deleted the original line and inserted that one with the image I wanted.

Hi, I'm new to ning.com. Could I know what was the side image's dimensions? I'm looking to replace the images like you but am not sure how to.

I'm not really sure what the dimensions were. I used a link from photobucket to the get the side image I have now.
