Capitalism vs Socialism

I am a nerdfighter who like politics, and I am a socialist. I have recently wondered why not more countries are socilistic, since this have turned alright for Norway. I would love your views on this case :)

Socialism is a wonderful, wonderful idea. On paper. It just rarely ever works out, and you end up with Communism, which is spectacularly shitty. 

I think the middle ground is the best course--take the ideas of socialism (universal health care etc) that are incredibly beneficial to society and meld them into a democratic system

Communism is different from hardcore socialsim which is the other thing a whole nation has ever operated under despite what words they may use to describe it goddammit slams fist on table dramatically and then starts throwing things in time with some very dramatic music. 

 

I guess socialism can be politically driven but socialism in general doesn't come at odds with democracy so you can go full socialist and democratic all at once.

I Don't understand why it have to go over to communism. I would never cut down the innovative private companies, but many things can be taken over by the state. Such as healthcare, schools, and also public transport. It may not be the best of the best for the few rich, but it is very good for everyone (even the poor).

Conservatives haven't managed any good amount of votes here in Scotland for fifty years.  

To hell with capitalism, your trickle down economy theories, I call them theories because they do as much good as being pissed on by the rich. You have to be moronic, foolish and completely idiotic to suggest such a system is well or good for society. 

Want to privatise schools? Have ideologies taught in place of actual schooling? Have third party agendas rammed down your children's throats? Or are you the kind that would scream ' "Let him die! ' when posed with a question on health care in a GOP rally? In any case, you're heartless, sickening and down right socially backwards a good hundred years.

Though, if we're going to talk economics. How's that fifteen trillion dollars worth of debt doing for ya, capitalists?

I'd disagree very, very much. If you believe in a shitty health system such as America has, if you support  a system that turns away those in need of help; you're heartless. If you believe in class systems, such as a voucher and private/public schooling creates; you're an idiot.

How does a voucher system create class? The vouchers are given to all families and can be used at any school. There's no turning away etc.

If you abolish private schools then create a system whereupon everyone gets the same education, of course there wouldn't be a class system. But apply vouches in today's America. You have the free, voucher paid for schools, and the richer private schools. There's an obvious class system here. Those who could afford the private education and those who had to rely on vouchers.

America doesn't have a shitty health care system. It has lots of room for improvement but it is far from being shitty. What are you talking about turning people away. If anyone is in an emergency it is illegal for them to turn them away.    

As for class system. You will never get rid of class systems. It is most social animals nature to have a hierarchy. Which has nothing to do with schools at least till high school.  I was talking about vouchers for private schools.  there is no need for the govt to teach private schools can do it better.

Define "emergency". If someone needs a heart transplant in 6 months and doesn't have the insurance to cover it, in the US, you won't get it. In the UK, you will get it (assuming a donor is available).

Private schools entrench class and destroy equality of oppotunity. Think about it. The rich people pay for their children to have a better education, which in turn allows those children to become rich, and then allow them to pay for better education for their children etc. This perpetuates a class system that is artifical. You're right, there is a hiaracrcy in nature, but any hiararchy that exists should be natural. Private schools create artifical class structures that are not based on true merit.

Yeah, because when millions of people cannot be afford the same care as those who're insured or have the money, that doesn't mean the healthcare is sh.. oh wait, it feckin' does. Its a disgrace for a 'modern' country. Learn to value your people over a dollar, till then it's nothing but a pile of shite built on top of those who it wont work for and help.

Private schools + third parties + agenda = brainwashed to a certain ideology.
