Nerdfighters

Hello Nerdfighters!

I am volunteering for my local library, and my current assignment is to research the blogs that teens like to read, what they like about them, and how we can apply that to the library's blog for teens to improve it.

It would be great if some teen nerdfighters (adult opinions are also appreciated as for what you like in a blog, but this is really geared more for teens) could answer a few quick questions:

How old are you?
What blogs do you read?
What is your favorite blog?
Why do you like these blogs?
What do you *not* like in blogs?
How often do you check these blogs?
Any other information you think would help?

For example, this is what I would write:
I'm 16.
I read FreeRangeKids, which is an anti-helicopter-parent-movement blog; Oh Hey Kristina, by Kristina Horner of Five Awesome Girls; and The Simple Dollar, a blog about living frugally and general personal finance.
The Simple Dollar is my favorite.

I enjoy Free Range Kids because it has to do with raising children, and I find child psychology very interesting. I like Oh Hey, Kristina because her personality really comes out in her writing, and she is funny (and she lives in the same city as me!). I like the Simple Dollar for no reason other than a few years ago I became very interesting in cheap living (prepping for college!) and investing.

I hate it when blog writers use poor grammar, spelling, and punctuation, and when they tell you the nitty gritty details of their lives that would be better kept to themselves.

I check these blogs every three or four days.

I really like blogs where you really get to know the writer, rather than it just solely focusing on the subject (in The Simple Dollar, he tells you a bit about his own personal history with debt and a bit about his family, which makes it more relatable.

I know this is a lot, but it would really help me out!
Thank you!

I feel like Nerdfighters is a bad place to get a sample to theorize about teens in general. The population here is not reflective of the greater teen population.

That being said, I'm 19, and I almost never read blogs. The only one that I recently found that I actually returned to is Hyperbole and a Half. It's nerdy and random and has bad art and I love it. I don't read enough blogs to know what I like or dislike, I just know HaaH is clever.
