For the past while I have been reading/ commenting/ adding to discussions but I have to say my favorite posts are ALWAYS the ones where real nerdfighters tell real stories! So here it is:

Quickly document a story (try and keep it short!) I guess i really don't care if its real or not, just write it down!

NEAR DEATH EXPERIENCE!

*sigh* okay, well see, I was a stupid child, I found a quarter on the ground in second grade (SECOND GRADE! remember that, it has a big purpose of stupidity) so i kept it, like every kid would. SO I was at home later on in my room, and I heard my mom comming and I didn't want her to see my new (not) quarter. So being my (SECOND GRADE!) stupid self, instead of putting the quarter under my pillow i put it in my stupid second grader mouth, and OF COURSE i got scared and swallowed the darn thing. WHICH I LATER FOUND OUT MY MOTHER WASN'T EVEN COMMING IN MY ROOM AT ALL! So I had to get up and tell her, and she made me drink two bottles of water, and i told my dad, and he thought i was faking IT! then i finally convinced him, and he took me to the Emergency room, and I had to wait like 4 hours before they took me for x-rays. kay so then they put me on one of those roll-y hospital beds and wheeled me away, and the last thing I remember is the doctor putting a stick on thermometer on my forhead, and the forhead of my stuffed minne mouse. then he asked me, "do you like barbie dolls" and I said "um yeah" and he said "well this is gonna taste like barbie dolls" and then he put the laughing gas mask on my face and that was it.

THEN! at like 2am i woke up and puked on myself like 2 or 3 times and the lady gave me a bucket to go home with. And i was naked except for a hospital gown, which still creeps me out, because somehow they undressed me while I was out cold. AND I SWEAR! the woman in the next room over was like going into labor or something, at least thats what it sounded like. So I got dressed and I asked my dad how they got the quarter out and he said that theyy stuck a tube down my throat and sucked it out! and then I askd him if they gave him the quarter back, cuz i still really wanted it.

so all in all, i almost died, because if the quarter had landed flat in my throat (which it landed vertically) my air passage would have been cut off and i woulda been gone. But it was an interesting experience. I saw some girl accross from me get stiches, and some lady possibly going into labor! YAY!

Okay, this might not be funny to anyone else, or maybe you just have to be there. Or maybe you just have to love my family as much as my family does. BUT.

All but one of the women on my mother's side of the family is hearing impaired, including me. We have a genetic issue in our cochlea. That does not matter. What does matter is that it makes for some pret-ty hilarious moments.

This is just an example:

So, I was telling my sister to have our mom check out the band "Interpol". The conversation went like this:

"Oooo, what about Interpol?"
"What?"
"Interpol?"
"Ohh...wait, what?"
"INTERPOL."
"EASTER BOWL?!??!"
"NO, I-N-T-E-R-P-O-L."
"OH."
"YEAH."

That's just an example, really. But it's the only one I can think of right now that was more than a sentence or two. Like:

"I want some Jell-o."
"You have to hello?"

"Where the heck is the cat?"
"Awww, you feel trapped?"

Yeah.
