Blurbing book club book from now until the near future.  

Here's a few things you should probably do:

1. Read the book (obviously).

2. Come back to this forum and leave your thoughts about the book. You
can write a sentence, you can write an essay, it doesn't matter,
whatever you want.

3. Blurb the book.
Some of you may not know what a blurb is so allow me to explain: A
blurb is a sentence of 10 words or less, that sums up the book in
question. If you want an example, look on the back (occasionally the
front) of some books lying around your house. Those are blurbs.

Keep in mind that you can also compose lol-cat blurbs if you'd like (the same thing but with internet slang).

The Book Thief is one of my favorite books. I love the way it is told from the POV of death; that's so clever and unique. the story is well-crafted and the language is simply unrivaled by almost anything else I've read. It paints a vivid picture of life in Germany during WW2 and the psych of the German people at that time.

I adore this book, it entranced me from beginning to end. The characters were fresh and not story-already-told people like  from a lot of books about the Holocaust. I felt the relationships between them were so strong you really felt like the were all sitting in the bomb shelter yesterday, not in a fiction world. This is also one of the saddest books I've ever read, many tissues were used in the reading of this book. But crying doesn't ruin books for me, so two thumbs up to The Book Thief! Also, to anyone else who enjoyed it, you should all read I Am the Messenger, also by Markus Zusak.

I love this book its so sad but it's so beautiful. I think the fact that the story is told threw death's eyes is what makes it so special and unique. It allows us to really appreciate each scene in the book as whole ideas instead of parts of the whole. Both the Book Thief and the Messenger are ridiculously good, Marcus Zuzak is a gifted author.

I am reading this book for school and it is honestly the best book I have ever read for school in comparison to the worst which was the Odyssey by Homer. Anyways, the book has an interesting and different flavor toward death which much more palatable than other death related books. While I do enjoy sad death related books I like the dark humor this book is full of.

I personally loved the Odyssey. If you can get into that age of story-telling, with the epic poem style, it is very interesting and not too hard to understand. Just don't skip lines or zone out while you read :p

I'm one of those people who shamefully judge a book by its cover, and so I was rather reluctant to pick up The Book Thief. However, as soon as I started to read it I was hooked. The thing about the book that most intrigued me was how, although there were moments of profound sadness, it was kind of refreshingly optimistic at the same time. I didn't like the ending, at all. I thought it was too short-lived, and rushed, compared to how everything else spanned out in the book. Maybe I was just angry about the ending, which made me dislike it.

This book is amazing. So far I've read it 3 times and died at the end ever time. I mean, there's crying, and then there's BOOK THIEF crying. I talk about it too much so I'm not really going to say anything else, but I LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE.
