I don't think a model should be on the top hundred.
Just sayin'.
I think we're missing the point here, this is the top coolest not the top contributors to our society.

I mean, there have been cool people with great contributions to society, but what I'm saying is that you're overthinking it.
Some I haven't seen mentioned are as follows.

Moses Harman: 19th century individualist feminist and individualist anarchist who frequently was jailed by the United States government for things published in his radical periodical Lucifer: The Light Bearer, as they were "obscene." Most of his activism was for free speech, birth control, and stopping marital rape.

Ayaan Hirsi Ali: Muslim apostate and feminist who is under threat of death for her writings advocating the abolition of misogynistic and anti-rational practices in Islam.

Noam Chomsky: Leading linguist and activist author for a variety of left wing causes, most notably anti-imperialism and libertarian socialism.

Thomas Paine: Exceptionally progressive dissident Enlightenment author who was instrumental to both the American and French revolutions.

Carl Friedrich Gauss: Sometimes considered the greatest mathematician of all time, and he was quite influential with regards to physics as well.

Stephen Hawking: You know why.

Norman Borlaug: This Nobel Peace Prize Laureate is credited with saving over a billion people from starvation through his innovations in agricultural production, which are generally known as the "Green Revolution."

Awesome list.

I don't see Jim Sturgess... he should definitely be on that list
and so should Chuck Norris because he never forgets to be awesome :D
