Nerdfighters

Are YOU taking part in NANOWRIMO this year?

For the uneducated out there, NaNoWriMo is short for National Novel Writing Month. It's November- you begin after midnight on Halloween and type or scribble madly until midnight on the 30th, upload the typed manuscript for word count verification, and if it's over 49,999 words, you've won!

What you do next with said 50,000+ is up to you.

But no matter how busy you are, it's worth a shot. I didn't finish it my first year, and I LOVE the manuscript that I came up with. It's full of ideas, it's waiting to be reworked, and I really think it has a
chance of being something great. I won in 2007, and have had a couple other positive experiences from it..

^_^

If you ARE registered with NaNo, feel free to friend me!

I've also got another forum that I belong to that's a bunch of writers... There's usually between six and seven who attack NANOWRIMO with a vengeance each year. So by putting our novels up together in the forum for mutual support... It's a really powerful feeling of fun and camaraderie.

The forum's here:

Feel free to move this thread to the most appropriate category, but I think this is a major Nerdfighteria happening that a lot of members take part in.

if you need to read for school, read. if not, write. :)
Agreed~ And if you do have to read for school, then you can use what you read to inspire your next NANO passage!
STICKIED? SERIOUSLY? :D
My first year too ^^,

I'm not off to a great start but meh. Its worth giving it a go =]
This is my first NaNo. I'm so pumped! I've recruited a few of my friends, and we spent this afternoon writing. it was a blast.. but i'm still 4000ish words behind. But i've got a three day weekend from school, and a very supportive mother who is okay with me not doing chores until i go into temporary writer's block. I think i can do this!

good luck to all who are participating!
feel free to add me: http://www.nanowrimo.org/eng/user/683633
I'm NaNoing this year! It's my first year!
I'm participating this year. However, I'm pretty sure I'm not going to win. I'm WAY behind. Homework is kicking my butt this month.
guys I have a situation here, it's in the discussions if you'd like to help me out.
you see, right in the beginning of my novel...
I got a concussion D:
Whoo Hoo~ It's day Nine and I am restarting! Gosh this is gonna be rough! But my plot actually completely sputtered out so now Im writing a story for a character I came up with a long time ago, he never really got a story for himself, so hopefully He'll get one out of this... ZERO WORDS~ soon to be on the rise
haha this is my third year attempting. i always start off strong but start to wane off as time goes by. the curse of the short-attentioned :(
this is my first year and i'm totally going for it - but i have to admit - i'm kinda editing a little...trying not to do it too much but when I reopen the file each day it's hard not to play a little..anyone else having trouble controlling the inner editor?
I wanted to do nanowrimo but then life happened. I have really enjoyed listening to how it's going for everyone, and look forward to next year. Movember and Nanowrimo in the same month is pretty sweet!

So I just got done watching a pretty cool youtube channel called the Nerdwriters which is a nerdfighter colab focused on writing. They are actually pretty cool, and their views were low so I thought I would stop and say, "if you have a second check them out!" Dunno if they are looking for more for the colab or not.

DFTBA and good luck with your writing!
