Nerdfighters

So, what books are people reading right now? What are they about? What do you think of them? Would you recommend them?

I tend to read two or three books at a time. Currently, I'm making my way through the following:
  • The Omnivore's Dilemma by Michael Pollan
  • Ishmael by Daniel Quinn

I only just started Ishmael, but The Omnivore's Dilemma is very good.

Just finished Clockwork Prince. I got an advanced readers copy from work. It was good, but I'm really getting sick of the love triangle trend in YA lit. I mean, why can't these girls just pick a guy already? Seriously, with Twilight it was Edward or Jacob? Then with Hunger Games it was Peeta or Gale? Then with Mortal Instruments it was Simon or Jace? Then later Maia or Isabelle? Now with Infernal Devices it's Will or Jem? It's getting old. (Hopefully no one considers that a spoiler since it was very clearly going that way in the first book, and I didn't reveal who, if anyone, gets chosen.)

Anyway, now I'm reading A Clash of Kings, it's the sequel to A Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin. Good so far, but I'm nervous because the author has a habit of killing off cool characters and I'm worried for my favorites. Also, Martin can be a bit long winded at times, but such is the case with many adult fantasy novels.

just got the Name of the Star

I am reading The boy who harnessed the wind, and Hamlet (Shakespeare class).

I was going to read Paper Towns for a book project but my schools inferior library doesn't have the book. So I am rereading the book Ravens Gate by Anthony Horowitz. I like his books. They're pretty good.

Has anyone read a Clock Work Orange?

What do you mean by strange language?

I read A Clockwork Orange in early January. Fantastic read.

I am reading paper towns and catch 22.  Catch 22 is a good book I would definetly recomend it

I'm currently reading The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger. I've been wanting to read it for so long but am just now getting around to it. I love it so far.

The Catcher In The Rye is an absolutely wonderful novel. I can't understand why so many people say it's boring.

Earlier today I started reading "Son of Neptune" ^.^

I'm reading "The Pirate King" by Laurie R. King. Its a Sherlock Holmes mystery only it takes place roughly 20 years after the Holmes we know and love (and is being played by the devilishly handsome Robert Downey jr., can you say swoon!) Its in a series which begins with a book called "The Bee Keepers Apprentice" and is definitely worth reading!
