So, what books are people reading right now? What are they about? What do you think of them? Would you recommend them?
I tend to read two or three books at a time. Currently, I'm making my way through the following:
I only just started Ishmael, but The Omnivore's Dilemma is very good.

Permalink Reply by Lasse on August 17, 2012 at 12:28pm I just finished Stephen Hawking's and Leonard Mlodinow's "The Grand Design". It was all about the physics of the universe and gave some new and refreshing viewing points to life and how people have ended up like this. Recommended to anyone who's ready for some blowing of mind.
At the moment im reading Genius Wars by Catherine Jinks, it is last book in the Genius Trilogy. I have only just started it but its good so far, my expectations are pretty high because the first two were done so well.

I just started reading My place, by Sally Morgan. -It's sold over 500.000 copies, so I guess it can't be awfull ;)

Permalink Reply by RandomLanguage on August 23, 2012 at 5:11pm I was just on a long flight, and I always bring the Silmarillion (Tolkien) with me when I fly :) Before I flew, I was rereading The Bell at Sealy Hed by Patricia Mckillip. Alas, I forgot it at home.
Permalink Reply by Maxine on August 29, 2012 at 4:05pm The Velocity of Honey and More Science of Everyday Life by Jay Ingram. I now know the science of crumpling paper and coffee stains.
Permalink Reply by Clover on August 31, 2012 at 2:43pm I'm reading a book called Crewel by Gennifer Albin. Just started it, but it's interesting about a girl who can manipulate time and matter!
Permalink Reply by Jen Appell on September 1, 2012 at 10:03am I'm finally getting to read Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte! Granted, it's for my Women's Lit II course, but I'm excited to finally read it. I loved Emily Bronte's Wuthering Heights, and I've heard that people generally like Charlotte more than Emily. We'll see about that.
I'm also reading Tipping the Velvet by Sarah Waters, which is a lesbian fiction novel. It's fantastic so far; the emotions and characters are so REAL.
I'm still in the middle of reading The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest by Stieg Larsson, Stiff: the Curious Lives of Human Cadavers by Mary Roach, and Perfect by Ellen Hopkins. I'm also reading Odd Girls and Twilight Lovers by Lillian Faderman, which is a history of lesbianism in America (it's for my Lesbian Studies course).

Permalink Reply by Clare Holman-Hobbs on September 2, 2012 at 4:02pm I'm supposed to be reading my booklist for my next semester but I'm finding it very difficult to concentrate on any of them at the moment!
