Nerdfighters

I am very aware that to many of us Nerdfighters, typos are bad things. We try to avoid them, and are really quite annoyed by them.
However (and I don't know if it's just me), from time to time you come across a typo that just somehow appeals to you. This thread is dedicated to those strangely likable typos.
Feel free to contribute. (I was so close to writing bontribute. Which is a good start to this thread)

You are also very welcome to write where you first encountered the typo, and perhaps why it appeals to you. :)

Hahahaha!!
This is an article that showed up in my colleges newspaper. Try to find all the typos.

VWCs English Department is begining the search for two new professors and hope to have them teaching here next fall.

Drs. Kim Drake and Lee Alexander chose to renew their contracts with the college. This left a shortage in the department. The shortage has been strongly felt by students because virtually all of them must at least take College Writing and a sophomore English class to graduate.

The impact has been even stronger for English majors, who have not been able to take classes they had hoped to take because they were not offered due to the lack of instructors, especially highly specialied courses.

Due to the recant shortage of English faculty and the constant conflicts with other classes due to scheduling problems, said senior Erin Mullins, I have found myself deprived of the chance to take an English senior intergraftive experience. I have also found it difficult to scheule the English classes I most want to take.

As a result, Mullins will graduate in the spring without having taken any 400-level English classes.

Students pay a signicifant amount of money, or go into a signiciant amount of debt, to go to school at Virginia Wesleyan, and Ill never regret that choice, Mullins said. I just wish class scheduling had not been such a cumbersome issue during my three years here.

I think its a shame that our English department is missing faculty members, because it causes more stress on both professor and students with their cflasses, said junior Patricia Ahmadi. It is hard enough to make sure to take the classes one needs when they are offered, since most are only offered every other semester or year. Now students have to worry about weather or not the classes they need will be offered because there arent enough profesors to teach them.

But Dr. Michael Hall, program coordinator for the English department, said that the faculty, have made several accommodations for students. This has included allowing them to make subsitutions for classes not offered.

The department is making sure no student is seriously inconvenienced, Hall continued. Three visiting professors in the department have taken up the slack.

Visiting professor Dr. Jan Kreidler agreed with Hall.

I would say that theyre pretty good about working together, Kreidler said about the departments ability to coverClasses.

Anyone who thinks that their graduation willb e affected should contact a department member so that arrangements can be made to prevent delay in the students graduation date.

As far as replacing Drake and Alexander, Hall said Drakes position will be a straight replacement. Drake taught American Literature. Hall said the department is not looking for a speficif speciality within American Literature for this position.

Ideally, the department would find a minority candidate or other candidate with expertise in minority literature, Hall said, because having profesors who can teach minority literature is important for the future of the department.

In filling Alexanders position, the department is seeking a candidate with expertise in world literature, a field that goes beyond traitional American or British literature.

We want them to be able to offer courses outside the traditional canon, Hall said. We especially need that kind of coverage for future teacfers.

Because of the Key to the Future campaign to bring VWC to Phi Beta Kappa levle by the end of the decade, Hall said that a potential candidates membership in Phi Beta Kappa is very important. Were going to give fist consideration to Phi Beta Kappa membersrs.

But Hall also said that the department wont hire a candidate just becuase they are members of the prestigious orgranization. The candidate must also posses the other qualifications being sought.

The American literature position is already advertised on the colleges website. The other positionw ill be posted soon.

According to Hall, the department ist aking applications now and will come up with a short list of 10 candidates for each position. Delegates from the hiring commitee will conduct interviews from Dec. 28-29 at the Modern Langauge Association (MLA) convention in Philadelphia.

The commitee wil then rank the top two or three for each position who will be invited to campus for furtherr interviews. Those chose to itnerview on campus will meet with selected students, faculty, and everyone in the English Department, lal of whom will have input in the final hiring decision.

Hall said, We havent decided who will be on the commitee, but it will consist of mostly English faculty.
My favorite typo happened when I was IMing my friend, and we were talking about how I have problem trusting people, and she was trying to get me tell her something, and it was something like:

Me:hmm.I dunno.Im scared that like you'll tell someone or something.
Friend:I would do that.
...
...
Me: Um..
Friend: I MEAN WOULDNT!

It was just the timing of it I guess. It made me laugh soo hard.
ha I forget the 't on words like that all the time! It causes a lot of problems.
I've done this before too, and usually at times where the 't is rather important - like, the situation is kinda serious.
mine is "teh" because in the right occasion, it just makes so much more sense than "the", you know what i mean, right???? :-S
I know a guy who was once trying to say "I was hard on my sister" but instead said "I was hard IN my sister," which means a very different thing.
lolz.
OMG I'm laughing so hard right now.
rofl!!
my favorite typo...probably "pwn"...

yeah im going with that.

The name Imogen is a `typo`. It derives from the name `Innogen`, but someone's handwriting was bad so the ns got stuck to each other.
