Nerdfighters

At the end of March I will be traveling to Washington D.C. for a graduate class trip. While there I will have the opportunity to meet, socialize wtih, and ask questions of some high up individuals. W

What should i ask?

We will be meeting with the Vice Chair of the FCC.
A CEO of one of the larger lobbying companies.
A Democratic Senator that has been in office since 1986.

I'll update as I learn more about who we will be meeting with.

Its hard to say what exactly you should ask because it depends what your interested in. Don't ask them questions just because, ask them something you actually care about. I'd give examples, but I don't know what you like/who specifically you will be meeting. I would definatly ask as many questions as you can though, because this may be your only chance to do so.

DFTBA
Why?
Ask something they don't want to answer. I'm sure they get "how can I become as successful as you" and other suck-up, I'm so happy to be meeting you type questions all the time. Challenge them and who knows, maybe they'll actually answer with some honesty...or they could just ignore you. There's always that possibility, too.
I like the idea of asking some really awkward questions, particularly for the lobbyist.
Ask the lobbyist if he couldn't get a real job. Then yell at him to stop pimping democracy.
