Why do 'hipsters' like triangles so much?

It seems people hate hipsters on lookbook...maybe its becuase they are jealous of the amount of hype they get :L. I think their style and quirkiness is cool and deserves hype. 
I love hipsters, they have great sense of style, so why are they hated so much?

The term "hipster" is much like the term "tall" or "small". It's completely relative to the person using it. There are people who like obscure things, people who think that making money through a profession in the mainstream market is considered "selling out", people who enjoy dressing in oversized sweaters and tight jeans and boots. There's nothing wrong with any of those things. The faction of the hipster culture that give the whole culture of hipster a bad name are the ones that are self-loathing, arrogant kids who come from affluent families in good neighborhoods. They spent ridiculous amounts of money trying to look like they have no money at all and they look down on other people who enjoy things that are enjoyed by the general population. Their parents often paid their way through college and are now supporting them as they live their life as  "starving artist" in neighborhoods like Wicker Park and Logan Square. Not so many people would hate them if they did not hold such an ironic, stuck up disdain for the "mainstream".

I'm pretty sure it has to do with a band called YACHT which replaces the letter 'a' with triangles.

I'm actually quite fond of YACHT. And triangles. And a lot of things considered "Hipster."

Although I do find it a bit ridiculous when 'hipsters' get upset when some obscure band they like becomes mainstream. Besides, if you're trying to be hipster in order to not be mainstream then aren't you conforming to not conform...? Labels are just unnecessary. I think hipsters are awesome, but no one can be summed up in just one word.[:

the band thing is not about the band becoming mainstream it's one song being played on the radio and all of the sudden everybody's new favorite band is ________ when ________ has been awesome for the past three years. It's annoying.
