Whose death was more heatbreaking, Ianto's (Torchwood), or Fred's (HP7)?

When I was so convinced Ianto would miraculously come back in series four, I used that that line for my evidence. You know, the fact that Ianto said that Jack would see him die of old age. ....And then I realized it was just one of RTD's bad jokes.

My fangirl side says they better not find him a new love interest in series four. I'd rather Jack be heartbroken for the rest of ... forever. And not to mention the angry Janto girls - especially if the new lover is a girl. But I agree, Jack said he wouldn't forget Ianto - and no one will ever forget Ianto. Hell, GDL is still doing some TW/DW conventions. It's just...like Jack said, "the end is where we start from." It's all about moving on! Get with it!
I met him at a convention in melbourne! He is pretty awesome. I would be ok with Jack moving on given time, if he has a new interest first episode back even if supposedly a lot of time has passed I would probably be a little hurt. I wouldn't mind captain John coming back to help him move on.
Honestly, Fred. Not for any sentimental value, but there wasn't a purpose to his death. RTD killed of Ianto for the sole reason that it would make Jack miserable and drive him to his actions in Day 5.
Ianto. I sobbed so much when he died.

Fred's was sad too, but it was so mixed up with the other characters' deaths from the book that I don't think it was quite as sad.
And Ianto's death was so sudden, one minute Jack is being the hero and saving the day, next minute Ianto is dead.
A tear or two was shed when Ianto died, I'm not the biggest crier in the world TBH
I was sat on my laptop print screening all the way through those few minutes
@lizzy who, I to was muddled up with all the other deaths in HP 7
Ianto. :(

I'm a bigger Harry Potter nerd than I am Torchwood, but Ianto was just...why?
Fred! Although that might just be because I am a twin and can't imagine losing my sister. : (
I was so sad for both. It was more the reaction of jack that got me going. When it comes to fred. I was just crying from loosing all the other amazing characters that fred just added onto the tears.
Fred's death was rather quick and would have left a bigger impact if it weren't for the death of Tonks and Lupin and even Colin Creevey! Ianto's death was much more powerful. I cried for both, but Ianto was just so much more of a woobie.
Fred, definitely. I didn't like Ianto at all.
I don't even know how ANYONE can answer this question without great thought.
I think maybe Fred's, because it was really quick whereas Iantos was quite drawn out.
But Ianto and Jack <3

Then again, who knows? I don't deny shedding a tear or five for Ianto yet I didn't cry for Fred.
