I think a well reinforced building with a flat roof for going up on, setting up guns over edges on stands, have a time for certain people to watch the building while others sleep for a certain amount of time, a scout team to go find food, (BTW animals would probably already be in a more populated city, then without the zombie invasion, making it exceptionally easier to hunt and get food that way.) Also some home made weapons such as flame thrower (Which are not that hard to make if your experienced in engineering or basic setup equipment.) Set them up at certain parts of the buildings, ready for use at any need able time.

Also water, could be gotten from the mother nature itself by making a basic water purifier, for the rain water to fall and drain through something, leaving the unwanted, and dirty minerals behind.

I think a motor cycle, would be good, or truck for their supply room, it's all about the transportation for the needed and the needers. Meaning people, and food, supplies etc.... Again you want something not as loud, so you have a better chance of slipping past zombies without getting their attention. Also have guns setup ready for use to shoot, preferably silencers for better quietness.

You'll have to become skilled at Geographic mapping, such as weather climate telling, mile distance etc... If you need a hot climate with some storms(for some odd reason,) then figure out locations to Texas and the easiest way to get there. Or if you want a wet and sunny climate then maybe Oregon would help, plus the ocean to the west is a very good place to remain in emergency situations.

As for staying in the building you've chose, it doesn't have to e that way, if needed, (This will sound really dumb, and un-wise.) Go out into the wilderness, where berries, fruits, vegetables different kinds of edible food grow no matter what happens, they will always grow, and you'll eventually come across different animals to hunt and eat. (Trust me if a bird or some other animal sounds gross to eat, rethink that when your in the wilderness and haven't had meat for weeks, it will taste good.)etc...

As for guns, I would use silence pistols all I could, and DEFINITELY use the AK-47 (Silencer preferred.) The best assault rifle you can get when it comes to fighting for your life. Not much of a long range weapon, but if it comes to long range, avoid it, truly, you want to stay away from the zombies, trust me fighting zombies will be really, really scary and you would prefer skipping them. So about mid-range for the AK-47, for if they are mid-range from you they'd most likely spot you anyways and as usual demand their tasty meat, which happens to be the ones attached to your bones.

But then again all of these suggestions, tips advice, whatever it use, requires intelligence luck etc..

Some good ideas.... but
1) Add Napalm from that roof... that is gonna be hella fun
2) the ak-47 is for third world countries, move to the AR-15 (or even get an auto sear and turn it into an M-16, who cares about the BATFE if there are zombies running around). If you really want to you can put a silencer on that. Besides the AK is crap for accuracy at any range, easily use twice as much ammo....

On the crap part for the accuracy of the AK, I find you quite wrong, you see if trained with, and if you actually aim with the right steps/techniques it can come in Very good use.

1. Bunker down till the food in your house runs out staying quiet at all times.
2. when the food runs out find a nice durable high milage low pertrol car and GTFO dodge.
3. find a nice place in the wilderness to store supplies and construct a fortress of sorts around water with good vantage and easilly defendable if possible.
4. train with your weapon of choice (no guns, they need ammo) untill it's second nature too you
5. rebuild society from your bastion of humanity.

obviously if you can make a start on the later parts BEFORE the zombies come your fine. and remeber Stealth is your freind and there is now shame in running so you can survive. DO NOT GO LOOKING FOR trouble.

I wouldn't depend on guns. Swords are better, easier to use and they never run out of ammo.

While I agree with you about the downside of guns with the whole running about of bullets thing. I had a discussion with friends (and we were dressed as Zombies at the time, obviously) and in the event of the zombie apocalypse, in our zombie killing team I would be the one wielding the shot gun, for, I do not possess the necessary strength required to efficiently kill a zombie. Gotta think about these things. So I would say the weapon of choice definatley varies from person to person. Though, I do know a person who has THE BEST zombie killing sword. It's super long. So no getting within arms reach.

What if that person walks around a corner and is face-to-face with a zombie? A sword that long needs room to be swung.

That's why, again, a silenced pistol, could also come in handy, pop 'em in the face, with the possiblilty of no unwanted attention. But then again there are some downsides for this suggestion.

Will you have time to raise that gun and pull the trigger?

Kenny, then I will make sure he has another weapon as backup. Though, I'm sure he will haha, he has a lot. I will promise to make sure we don't leave his house in our last ditch effort for survival, unless we are all armed to the teeth with varying weapons.

I'd suggest everyone on your team has a minimum of two reliable weapons, in addition to a hunting knife for any super close combat.
