Nerds who miss handwritten letters...

Never underestimate the impact of a well written letter. John and Hank had it right with 'textless communcation' (ha), but for those of us a little less 'out there', once upon a time, not sooo long ago, there was such as the handwritten letter.

There is nothing else like getting a letter from a friend :) Also, it's good practising writing by hand. With all these typing I do my handwriting gradually gets worse. Whenever I write a letter to a friend, I try my hardest writing in a nice (or at least readable) way to show my affection :)

I keep joining penpal sites so that I can send a receive handwritten letters, but even the strangers who seem interesting would rather email or (eeew!) text.  Poor luck on my part.

My fav. part about getting letters is that you can save them and read them over and over again or forget about them and find them later in life for a moment of reflecting.

I completely miss hand written letters, mostly because it's almost like there is a part of them in the letter. You can tell is the person is angry or happy, it's more personal than the internet now days.

I love handwritten letters. I have about 6 pen pals now which is always quite fun though sometimes slightly confusing as 3 live in the USA and 2 lives in Australia and the last one new Zealand, but surprisingly they all like quite similar things.

Ahh but snail mail is so much fun- espeically if they send you a customised envelope then your like all wide eyed and say "I've Got Mail" (Doctor Who Reference by the way).

I absolutely love writing/receiving letters (not that I have in years). I remember writing my friend when we separated after leaving elementary school. We lasted quite a while writing back and forth and it was really nice. It really does just provide a special element of personality when a letter is handwritten.

I don't get excited over e-mails, but I get very excited over snail mail...

I love writing handwritten letters! As much I enjoy emailing people (because they actually respond), I enjoy taking the time to find paper, choose my writing instrument, write something down, and then send the letter!

I was SERIOUSLY just in the process of writing 22 hand-written letters when I decided "meh, I'll take a break on the ning" and I found this. o_0

I recently moved to a place where I don't know anyone and I have resurrected my oldschool letter writing habits! Well, not quite as avid as it used to be, but there are a couple people in the world who like to hear from me and who will write back! I find letter writing to be a fabulous way to process my experiences.
