Nerds who miss handwritten letters...

Never underestimate the impact of a well written letter. John and Hank had it right with 'textless communcation' (ha), but for those of us a little less 'out there', once upon a time, not sooo long ago, there was such as the handwritten letter.

I've always loved writing and receiving letters (especially the latter ;) ). I had a lot of penpals when I was little and I wish we'd still send letters to one another, but e-mail is more convenient :(. Have you heard of this:

I wish I could do that, seems like so much fun :D

I love handwritten letters! I got one from my friend today... they are so wonderful becuase you can add stuff like a paperclip from your pocket or a lable that looks really neat or just other random stuff you find :D

I write letters to my friends all the time, except I also talk to them all the time on the phone or IM, so they tend not to write me back :(.

I think it's really sad that people practically never write letters anymore. I mean, I love the internet (obviously) and email is more convenient, but it's sometimes just nicer to actually write a letter. Some people my age don't even know how to send a letter in the mail, it's extremely sad.

It's a sad thing that letters are falling by the wayside. I've recently started sending out a lot of letters to friends and family and pen-pals. Think about how much we would never have learned about history if it wasn't for people's boxes of old letters.

Ah handwritten letters. I guess maybe I'm a little bit oldschool, but in my eyes handwritten letters carry a lot more weight with them than a typed letter or email. I guess it's the amount of time and effort that goes into the letter maybe?

But anyways, I'll be your Snail Mail Pen Pal if you want Manda, I'd love to get more snail mail. Nobody ever writes me handwritten letters anymore :(

I <3 everything about getting a letter, the stamps, the letter openers, the surprise, the stationary, just getting to see a friends hand writting... its all good

Anyone here interested in becoming Snail Mail Pen Pals (if for nothing more than to get some good old fashioned snail-mail?)

In this day and age, there's not really any use for personal communication via 'snail mail'. Many businesses and corporations are even urging us to 'Go Green' with paperless billing. But aside from fast and easy and ecofriendliness abroad, you all have to admit the race of your heart and a ridiculous little smile when you get a letter with your name handwritten on the front.

And ridiculous smiles are awesome.
