Hello everyone, so I was wondering if anyone could help advise me: I'd like to set up a series of community (vegetable) gardens in my home town with an emphasis on families getting a chance to grow things together with others, and everyone putting a little in and getting out of it, like having a barter market where you can exchange broccoli for carrots. Only I'm at a loss of how to start and who to talk to.

I have a favor to ask of all of you! me and ma partner are growing lotsa veg-eee-tables this year!!! XD though our parsnips haven't started growing :( beetroot, potatoes, onions, spring onions, leek, carrots, rhubarb, herbs, squash, cucumber XD hehehehe not bad for 2nd year going!!!

my mini "garden" is officially done for the season, made some fried green tomatoes with what i had left and let me tell you something they are DELICIOUS.

Pickles ferment as soon as you open them anyway, canning is just a way to be able to put them in the basement and forget about em.

pickles. ever tried lactic acid fermentation? much nicer than vinegar.
there might be usefull tipd in here..

Sidenote, even when some plants fail to grow, next month or next season they might just suddenly sprout. so dont uproot them, they may just grow :)

you don't like pickles?!? what an outrage!
yeah, I'd love to have some of yours! I just can't think why I didn't think of doing that.... I just sort of let my cucumbers rot, if I couldn't find someone to give them away to.

Haha, maybe I should give you some of mine, I don't really like them all that much, I just had to do something with all the cucumbers.
