I've just started reading Wolverine and The X-men after Schism, when Jean Grey's School For Higher Learning was opened, but I want to learn what happens beforehand. The beginning. Does anyone know where I can start to lead up to when Jean's school was opened?

@Amber I started on the early 80's Uncanny X-men comics, I know they go back before that..but I found it to be a pretty good place to start, and it was all I could get my hands on at the time lol. If you are planning on buying the comics,  would reconmend Craigslist or Ebay. I found a guy on craigslist giving away his whole collection for free! They are all vintage comics, but thats what I prefer lol. Anyways I think the Uncanny X-men could be a good place to start ..although it mostly just depends on what type of comic/story you like best. Hey you guys!! I'm gonna be honest, I fell in love with the X-Men trilogy and I know a lot about the backgrounds of characters from reading it on the Marvel website, but I want to reading the comics too! But I have nooooo idea where to start. Which series do you all recommend?

yeah I love x men because there's soo many characters and you can always have a discussion on which ones the best! XD Also the tv show, comics and games. Ever since I was a kid I loved X-Men ( I was born 1993) ^^
