Comment by Charles Forrest Minetree on May 27, 2012 at 3:39pm Okay, if we are getting technical about the difference between a "baritone horn" and a "euphonium": The baritone horn has a cylindrical bore similar to a trombone while a euphonium has a more conical bore. The only true "baritone horn" is a "British baritone horn." All instruments manufactured by US companies (i.e. Conn, King) are really euphoniums even if they are called "'baritone horns.'"

Comment by Charles Forrest Minetree on May 25, 2012 at 4:06pm Why are they called "Baritones"? A baritone is a singer. It's a "Baritone HORN"! Or my favorite line from "Brassed Off": "It's a bloody euphonium!"
