Hi there I am Oboe. As you may deduce from my name, I play the oboe. However, I march saxaphone in the Waco High Lion Pride Marching band, and JUST sayin´, we went to San Antonio last Saturday for the US Bands competition, and won 1st place! Our show is titled ´the Entity¨, and it is freaking AWESOME.

Join the Clarinet Nerdfighters group! I don't have the link but you can search it! Also, does anyone here live Chester County, PA, and are you going to the OJR Cavalcade tonight?

Here is an invitation to those of you who play Tuba or Euphonium (or any tuba-like instrument) to join the Tuba & Euphonium Nerdfighters:

The last day I marched in a band was on January 1, 1977, with the Big Brown Music Machine of CSULB in the Rose Parade. It is too hard to march with an upright tuba (particularly if the horn doesn't have strap rings) as opposed to a Sousaphone. The tuba I have now is pitched in CC rather than BB♭. They don't make CC Sousaphones (but I believe there are CC helicons). Although I still known my BB♭ fingerings, it has been over twenty years since I have used them regularly.

Playing classic band literature is where it's at: Holst, Granger, Vaughn Williams, Alfred Reed, Robert W. Smith and others.

which would actually classify an american baritone horn as a whole different instrument then, still not a euphonium.
