I would never grow old of Disney. Sure I am not as giddy as I was 10 or 5 years before, but every time I get the chance to see Disney films (the classics especially) I feel uplifted. I always end up feeling hopeful, optimistic, and special. I guess it's because they value childhood so much and makes us feel like a child again. I think we all will benefit from bouncing back to feeling like a child sometimes. As children we don't over analyze things, we hope for the best, we appreciate the little things like receiving kisses and hugs from parents. Whenever I feel like I need to feel like a child again, Disney movies never fail me. Disney Channel will forever be one of my favorites. Kudos to Walt Disney! To kids at heart everywhere, keep dreaming and always feel special.

I've always identified a lot w/ Belle because I'm considered odd and I love books. Now that I'm older I realize she's secretly a NerdFighter.

My favorite fairytale has always been Beauty and the Beast, and so it's not really surprising that that's my favorite Disney "princess" (she doesn't start out as one, but I suppose she becomes one by the end...) film. I identify a lot with Belle, as she's intelligent (and likes BOOKS!) and strong minded, as well as caring and determined. :)

And I also love Mulan. Plus, they didn't totally butcher her story as they did with Pocahontas'.

The main problem with Snow White is that she is totally inconsiderate. What the bit where she goes into the dwarves house. She knocks, asking if anyones home, walks in asks if she can come in, and when there is no answer begins cleaning while letting a lot of random forest animals in with her!

True, they reflect the general thinking there was in those times. Plus, Snow White was Disney's first movie success, so she does get some credit. And very funny with the "green skinned radical". :)

I agree Danno, you can see how Disney princesses are catching up with the times; take Merida for example, there were...

...3 guys to choose from, and you know how she chose (assuming you've seen the movie).

while you're certainly not wrong to feel this way, you also have to keep in mind that not everyone can be a green skinned radical.  the early princesses are a product of the time the movies were made, and moreso of the original stories (and times) that inspired them.
