Permalink Reply by Da-Real Gold on December 1, 2012 at 3:39am true, i hardly miss the RTD era, he killed off the timelords, didn't give paul mcgann a shot at being the doctor & stole paul's idea for the doctors outfit, the outfit that chris eccleston donned, that was paul's idea.
Permalink Reply by Doug Johnson on December 1, 2012 at 2:04pm Exactly. All of those are points that I use when arguing this to other people. Mostly that he killed off the timelords, but still. The other things were not good either.
Permalink Reply by Da-Real Gold on December 2, 2012 at 1:55am i bet most of those people you argued with were mostly RTD fans & never saw the classics. :P

Permalink Reply by Rachel May on December 4, 2012 at 11:27pm I love 10 and 11, 11 happens to be my first doctor because i just got into the series.... I love 10 because he is so fanatastical and amazing and at the same time he brings a sort of spark to the series, like "why dont, while the world is ending, we have a bit of fun?" where as 11 also brings a different spark but a spark none the less but its more like "the world is ending so im going to cheat this rule and that rule and put 2 and 2 together to get fish and BAM the world isnt ending anymore. oh by the way bow ties are cool"
Permalink Reply by Courtney Welu on December 7, 2012 at 10:38pm I love all of the doctors, though I have to say that Ten holds a very special place in my heart. He just does an incredible job at portraying his emotions, and even though I love both Nine and Eleven, and have yet to see the originals, it has to be Ten.
Permalink Reply by Jessica Jarrett on December 8, 2012 at 1:06pm I think that David Tennant will always be my favorite Doctor. Though, I love Classic Who, and Tom Baker and Sylvester McCoy were fantastic as well, and I really really like Matt Smith... but there's just something about Tennant. I think it's probably because the Doctor was the role that inspired him to go into acting that he played the character so well. His interpretation was flawless, and Tennant actually WAS the Doctor during the time he was on set. He incorporated himself into the character, and I think that's what makes each Doctor so fantastic and different...it's the fact that each actor that plays the Doctor pours his entire self into the role. And I think Tennant is the perfect example of that. From the way that he dressed, to his mannerisms, his interactions with his companions, his catch phrases, and then that intensity that the Doctor always has--not nearly as rough as Eccelston's Doctor, and Matt Smith's Doctor can be downright terrifying at times--was always entirely balanced out with everything else that was going on in the show. And I think that Russel T Davies was a big part of that characterization. Moffat likes to torture Whovians. And Sherlockians. I swear if he gets a hold of Supernatural, I won't be able to handle it.

Permalink Reply by Katy of Katydom on December 26, 2012 at 1:08pm The best Doctor? Well Matt Smith is my favorite (How can you not love the 11th Doctor? He's a 1000-year-old man and yet still a goofy kid). And of course I love Tennant and Eccleston, but I also love the classic Doctors. (I've seen all the Doctors except Paul McGann and Colin Baker (which I will admit I'm a bit afraid to watch because I've heard bad things about that era). Tom Baker is my 2nd favorite Doctor, he was so crazy, hilarious, and brilliant. I also really loved Jon Pertwee. I seriously think he's the most underrated of the Doctors. He was by far the most badass of all the Doctors, and yet he was just so funny and lovable. The only Doctor of which I've watched which I didn't really like was William Hartnell (yes, I know I should no longer be able to call myself a Whovian for saying that, but it's true), the 1st Doctor was kind of a grumpy jerk.
Permalink Reply by Theonlytruemathnerd on January 2, 2013 at 3:17pm I'm going to say that 11 is the best, but I think that if people see which doctor they saw first and connected to DW, then I think that they will find that that doctor is probably the one they like best.
