Doctor Who movie

So I just read this article about David Yates directing a Doctor Who movie. It basically atated that it would not feature Matt Smith as the Doctor, but would stand as a completely seperate Doctor Who adventure. Here's the article:

So my question, do you think the movie should continue on from the series, or be seperate? My opinion is that it would be good if it continued, but it would be difficult for them to film it unless there is a massive story arc in the movie and series.

Lian as I said in the group comments they should take the facts stated in the series about the time war and put them into making a movie of the 8th and 9th dr in the time war.

Yeah! That's a good idea. Perhaps that may give us more of a chance to see Paul McGann.

Whatever they do, it should be something that's within the story already. Like the Time War, yes, or any substantial period between episodes. Like those two hundred years that Eleven was on the run...not that exactly, but something like it.

I don't know how to feel about it. I might love it more than doctor horrible if it works with some time in the dw plot but if it just messes up the plot of where ever its starting from I might through stuff at the screen...maybe.

I'm not really excited about a movie... I'm actually worried about it.., but if there's one I'd love to see something about his early  life on Gallifrey, of when he stole the TARDIS, about his time at the Time Lord Academy, :D a lot of the Master!!, Romana!!, his family!!  and all that :)  or yes, the Time War!

There have already been a couple Doctor Who movies as far as I'm concerned...all the Tennant specials.

I think it would be cool if the doctor in the Dr who movie was from a different universe. I like the sound of a Doctor who movie that does not have to follow the timeline of the one from the tv series and can therefore throw of the restraints of the show, however they should throw in one or two things that we can relate to, so it feels like the doctor we are watching and not someone else

Maybe they could throw in Billie Piper together with that half Doctor thing that David Tenant played. They both could be the companions of the parallel-world-Doctor. :)

It's not going to happen, and I'm alright with that, but wouldn't it be cool if the movie was all about The Master? Maybe they could do a sequel about him.
