New Who or old Who.

Although the weeping angels are high up on the list, they take a second place to one monster that I find to be terrifying and we know NOTHING about.

Whatever that thing was on the planet of midnight. That is the scariest. That thing is strong, brilliant, and completely unknown. It's to us what the doctor is to the bad guys. Unknowable power and completely on the other side as us.

I absolutely agree. Although I feel that the most terrifying part of Midnight is the reactions of the people with the Doctor.
Agreed. Thank goodness good -ol ten spoke french so much or they may never have realized.

Saving the day with a catchphrase. Man I love Doctor Who.

Now I'm becoming more curious about the monster itself though. What is truly the point of it? What was it hoping to do once it had inhabited the Doctor's body? At least all of the other monsters seem to truly have a motive, this one just seems to want to cause dissension.

Might have been something like a bad spirit/ghost or demon. It reminded me of the Satan Pit. I.don't know the motives eithet, but I kinda liked that there was no explanation in the episode. For once, we can use our fantasy beyond limits.
I'm pretty terrified of the Silence...

Vashta Nerada

Weeping Angels

Silence

Dark Doctor

Yeah I know the last one technically isn't any sort of official enemy but admit it, you wanna piss your pants a bit when the doctor goes dark.

I suppose a better enemy name for the dark doctor would be the dream lord, the physical embodiment of all his badness.

I was going to put that but would you believe I just wasn't all that afraid of the dream lord? At least, not during the show since I didn't know who he was, it was a little frightening to find out that that is what the Doctor thinks of himself in reality. Still, it's more frightening when the Doctor as the Doctor gets dark because it's his face and he's happy happy funny funny NO ONE HUMAN HAS ANYTHING TO SAY TO ME TODAY!!!!!!!!!!! I love him though, he's absolutely brilliant and I would jump on the TARDIS any day.
I don't know if the Dream Lord was all that scary. But it was interesting to see how the Doctor perceives himself and his doubts.

the Doctor when he is mad...he is freaking terrifying. I loose my breath everytime.

True Story. My friends and I are hanging out after watching Doctor Who from the DVR. We are just chatting and the TV is off but the cable box is still on. So all of the sudden we hear this ominous music start to play. We turn on the TV and it's a CLOSE UP SHOT OF THE WEEPING ANGLES! We all screamed hysterically, I didn't sleep that night.

WEEPING ANGLES. TERRIFYING.

Good story!
