i know what you mean about his work being a major part of one's childhood.

that's funny! 

it is amazing to me that a grown up can be so much fun and bring such happiness to little kids... the best part is that parents keep buying them and reading them to their kids... and reading them, and reading them and reading them again.

I SHARE A BIRTHDAY WITH THIS MAN. Back in elementary school, I really loved this because it ment that on my birthday, regular class was suspended and we ate green eggs and ham. Best birthday present ever.

Hard to say. I love Happy Birthday to You! and actually read it to my college girlfriend on her birthday (cheap date, but fun).
The Sneetches (& other stories) is another. I remembered Lolla-Lee-Lou's feathers being waaaaay more colors than black green and blue until I re-read the book in my 20s - a tribute to Mr. Geisel's verbal artistry.

@Shawn we know he's dead, but that doesn't mean Seuss Enterprises doesn't exist. he had a family. and a business. a corporation. corporations don't die just cuz the boss is gone. unless it's a one man company or it's outlined in a contract.
