As a geography major and an environmental studies major--I definitely feel your pain. I had someone last night tell me my major didn't make sense because all the maps in the world were already built and didn't change.

I also get annoyed by people's ignorance. I once stood in line at the grocery store behind an older woman who insisted that global warming wasn't real because we were having cold weather at the time. I butted in and explained all about wind patterns and water currents and what "global warming" actually means. She looked at me like she wanted to slap me and said, "Like I care!"
How do you reply to something like that without being utterly rude and suffocating these people with the nearest plastic bag?
