The rule is that if it's said in an English accent any word can be used as drunk. Of course it has to be used in a phrase like: "I was completely _______ last night" or "You should've seen 'im he was totally ____________".

Permalink Reply by Julia on March 11, 2012 at 6:55am I love the phrase "awfully chuffed" and use it whenever I can which isn't very often regarding the fact that I live in Germany. But soon I will. Very soon. Mwahaha...
Permalink Reply by Carissa Mahorney on March 11, 2012 at 7:37am I like that one too. Took me a while to figure out if that was a good or a bad thing, but the discovery is half the fun.
Permalink Reply by Caroline S. on March 19, 2012 at 5:06am I love it when someone says that it was "jolly good"!
It sounds so happy. When I asked my host mother what it meant she told me that she not even aware of the fact that she actually uses this phrase - all the time.

My favorites are "talking rubbish" and "daft". They just say what can't otherwise be said.
Permalink Reply by Maggie Ann DiMenna on June 19, 2012 at 7:19pm I say Brilliant or Fantastic. I also use Loads and Massive. But I really love Cheeky too.
Permalink Reply by Brianna Neal on June 19, 2012 at 9:56pm I can't really say I have a favourite, but the ones I customarily use are: brilliant, fantastic, loads, ages, the other common ones. I always say "I'm going to use the toilet" instead of saying "bathroom". I refer to cigarettes as fags. I say 'rubbish bin' and 'telly'. I always say 'mum' and write/type with British English. I say trolley. I say certain things in various accents. My friends always give me especially odd looks when I say that someone is a 'right prat'.
