For all those who pretend to be British or wish they were. And for British people who like to be appreciated for their Britishness.

Comment by Simon Andrew Eric Sharda on October 14, 2012 at 3:24pm Hahaha, that "Ughhhhh" in my previous comment was actually meant as a good ugh, if that makes any sense? It's actually a habit I've acquired from a friend of mine in Manchester, XD
Comment by Simon Andrew Eric Sharda on October 13, 2012 at 4:34pm Ughhhhh, I've been an Anglo-phile since I was a kid. And I miss it so much- i spent time in Glasgow & Oxford & London. Lived in London for a few months, actually. I was studying in France over the summer, and was ordering drinks at a bar, for my German friend & I, and a man turned to me & said "You're not from around here, are you?" He had an accent, so I played with it & said he was right, I'm actually from Camden. And he was all "I thought so, I could hear it in your accent.
We then chatted for about 20 minutes in English, before I went back to my German friend, who was cracking up. She couldn't believe how easily & well I sold the idea that I'm British & from a specific area to a British person.
Comment by Sof on October 10, 2012 at 2:05am I wasn't so much a fake UKer until this summer when I liven in the Lake District for two months and became a full time Brit. Now being back in Denmark I'm just fake...

I have a British roommate staying with me this semester, and she keeps telling me the same thing! I want to go to England, but she wants to stay here in America. It's such a "Grass is always greener..." scenario, isn't it?
