Today one of my favourite authors is blogging at about how she came to write novels on the blog of Long and Short Reviews.

You can also participate in the blog’s weekly CONTEST, if you answer following question correctly and mail the answer to lasrcontests@gmail.com: What language is Julia Fellner’s mother tongue?

It’s totally awesome, so I can only advise you to check it out.

Ella, that is a fantastic scene! Okay, for movies. Probably my favourite scene in a movie is from "Sunset Boulevard": the final scene is so powerful and terrifying. It set my standard for art in the cinema.

The book overall wasn't my favourite--after that scene it really drags and doesn't feel (to me) like a coherent whole. So, there's definitely good stuff there, but you may have to tramp through some sludge.

There's also the possibility that you would bring an experience to the novel that would be much better suited to receiving the book holistically.

Favourite scene in a book: "The Poisonwood Bible", just after a major soilerific event, baptises an African Village in a torrential downpour. That's one of many, but that scene stands out very viscerally.

One of my favorite scenes from the movie Hannibal Rising was when Hannibal cuts the guy's head off by tying him from his neck to a tree ang putting the rope on the horse and when the horse ran the head fell off and blood splattered all over the place

okay... i must disagree on the monty python scene... the best scene is definitely the one with the French peoples in the castle and the whole "your mother was a hamster and you father smelt of elderberries!"

Black Knight as in Monty Python and the Holy Grail? If so... I totally agree!
"'Tis a flesh wound!" "Flesh wound, your arm's off!" "No it isn't!" "What's that then?" "[sees arm on ground] Have at you!" (forgive me for incorrect quoting, I haven't seen it in an embarrassing amount of time.)
