InFamous Review "All But The Story And The Electricity Reek Of Generic-ness"

I bet you guys are reeeealy surprised I'm reviewing InFamous. I mean no one person on earth has done such a thing! And what is this game InFamous, POPPYCOCK! If you didn't know this already by the title and the obvious sarcasm, I'm reviewing InFamous, which has been reviewed by everyone under the moon, and maybe over, meaning astronauts and aliens. Because everyone knows that astronauts and aliens have nothing better to do than review games. Anyways here's the review.
---------------------------------------------------------
Gameplay 8/10
The gameplay is pretty good. As you guys may or may not know, this game was made by sucker punch, the people who made the Sly Cooper series. And that bleeds straight through. I mean, sure the game has some obvious differences, blasting lightning, thunderslams, draining, gliding. But come on, it seemingly has the same physics, ergo; jumping and automatically grabbing onto things (which gets annoying in combat situations), same feeling of weight , same way of h2h fighting. It seems like sucker punch knew that formula was successful and didn't want to stray too far from it. Now the karmic system. I usually have a love/hate relationship with these, I sometimes oppose this idea, not because of the many paths, but because my opinion on something i see as a good thing to do in the long run, could seem bad or neutral. But InFamous makes your karmic choices either good or bad, theres no in between, which bothers me because of the reason I stated before. Meaning, share or dont share, kill or dont kill, stuff like that. Which is good for some people , i guess. So gameplay is good, but dont expect Sucker Punch's gift to the green earth.

---------------------------------------------------------
Story 9/10
The story is unquestionably the best feature of this game, something that comic nerds, like myself will love. Every cutscene is put in a gloriously dark, graphic novel style form. Making a big difference from a lot of action games. The story starts when an explosion takes place in the city, its complete chaos, people dying, scattering, looking for loved ones, the usual stuff that happens when society is collapsing, and maybe thousands of buildings. ^_^ The main character, Cole, wakes up having a plethora of electric themed powers, WOW! He tries to survive (like everyone else) and decide how to use his powers, which will be up to you. I dont really want to tell any other aspects of the story so find out on your own. The story is original but sometimes lacks oomph. And yes I just said oomph as a noun. deal with it. :p
---------------------------------------------------------
Graphics 8/10
I dont have much to say about graphics. They're pretty much the same as any other ps3 game's graphics. But still pretty good nevertheless. So it gets an 8 out of 10. You're welcome sucker punch.
---------------------------------------------------------
Music 8.5/10
The Music is good as it could be. Which is an 8.5, its good. fits all situation. Like a lot of things going on with this game, its kind of generic. Its no Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, but its still good. Eh I'm too bored with the music to write more about it.
---------------------------------------------------------
Replay Value (New category!) moderate
Once you beat this game, you'll probably put it back on your shelf never to be played again. You may want to play it again to see the other possible endings , but if your anything like me, you'll get bored with it 1/4th way through, and put it back on your shelf never to be played again like i said before. Its easy to get bored with this game. If it wasn't for the story this game would get a low replay value and not moderate.
---------------------------------------------------------
In conclusion, InFamous is a pretty good game, but nothing very special. So the final grade is 8.25/10, its probably a good idea to rent the game, since you'll probably play it 1 or 2 times. and leave a review suggestion beaver dam it!

I'm not being funny (I've never played the game) but you seem to be rating awfully high considering the things you say... Just pointing that out :-P

Well its just that the game, despite it being generic, was really good, and it being a little generic is a small flaw compared to a lot of other games. It seemed a little unfair to rate it a 5 just because it's generic when it could've been much much worse.
