Just as last time in 2009, John Green will be presenting his new book, this time "the fault in our stars", at the international literature festival in Berlin, Hamburg, Frankfurt and Munich.
I know that because my teacher contacted me about this matter and sent me the newsletter, saying so. (I'll attach it in this post).
So yes, the festival will start on the 4th September and end on the 16th. In between that time, John Green will have his book-presentation.
I for myself look quite forward to this and I'm pretty sure some of you are too.
Well, 'till then DFTBA!
EDIT:
The final dates are: Sep 11th in Berlin, 12th in Hamburg, 13th in Frankfurt and 14th in Munich

Permalink Reply by Ceridfran on July 27, 2012 at 9:39am FTL!? I just checked the link I gave you above, and it leads to an error page now. So I idly checked the webshop of the Berliner Festspiele - and they already have tickets on sale! But only for the 7:30 reading... What the frack is going on???
Permalink Reply by Mealla McAllister on July 27, 2012 at 5:21pm It seems that only the evening event is open to the public and not only school classes :( I can't come that late, my last train home leaves to early.
Permalink Reply by Ceridfran on August 1, 2012 at 12:01pm Okay people - this shit is getting real!
To cut through the confusion a bit: the Berlin ticket shop is here: https://tickets.kbb.eu/kbb.webshop/webticket/bestseatselect?eventId... Only the 7:30 reading is open to the general public, the other two are for schools only. Tickets for adults (the only kind available online) are 6,-€. If you are eligible for a discount (students up to 27 years of age and a variety of others I can't translate), you need to call the ticket office at +49 (0) 30 254 89 100 or go directly to the Haus der Berliner Festspiele's ticket office (Schaperstr. 24, 10719 Berlin).
I registered for the ticket shop and would be willing to buy a bunch of tickets for those who are confused by the site or don't have an account/credit card. Message me BY MIDNIGHT (CET) SUNDAY 5th AUGUST if you're interested!
If nobody messages me, I'll just buy my own ticket.
And my offer of up to two sleeping places in Berlin still stands.
Permalink Reply by Clara on August 2, 2012 at 3:21am Oh man in the Ticket Shop it says "Das Schicksal ist ein mieser Vertreter" that really killed me ^^
[Edit] Just got my Ticket! So excited!
Permalink Reply by Phillip on August 6, 2012 at 5:12am Just got my tickets for Berlin (19:30). Don't forget to say "Herzlichen Glückwünsch = Best wishes", when you hang up.
Permalink Reply by Ceridfran on August 6, 2012 at 8:50am I think "Best wishes" translates better as "Alles Gute", personally. But to each his own. ;)
Permalink Reply by Clara on August 6, 2012 at 8:22am Okay Berlin People, are we gonna meet up before the lecture?
Or is that discussion going on in the Facebook group?
Permalink Reply by Ceridfran on August 6, 2012 at 9:01am Both here and there - which is cumbersome and confusing.
I think we are meeting up between the mid-day and evening readings, since people are attending both.
Permalink Reply by gelingeling on August 6, 2012 at 9:06am That's right! We totally have to meet up and hang out and we have to to the signing! (: I'm so pumped!
Permalink Reply by Nora on August 10, 2012 at 5:57am On John's german wikipedia page it says something about him being in cologne?
http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Green it is in the part "Leben und Werk" the last sentence.
does anybody know about that or was it cancelled? i can't make it to any of the other places around that time and cologne would be just perfect...
i'm crossing my fingers for that to happen :)
I think they mixed up Frankfurt and Cologne, since they didn't mention Frankfurt in there...
