SECRET NERDFIGHTER PROJECT

Maybe you've already heard of it: We have a thing going on called "150,000 Signatures". There was a girl who had the idea to buy a copy of TFiOS and have it signed by 150,000 nerdfighters before sending it to John Green, so we can say thank you. A lot has changed, but that's the general idea.

There is still a lot we have to discuss. ATM we try to get in contact with Hank, because that would help a lot. But what I can tell you now is that we want to give this book to John on January 10th 2013, because that's the first anniversary of TFiOS. To make this work we'll have to do our signings not later than November. But since Phillip pointed out that John will be in Berlin in September I think we can get a lot of work done by this time, because a lot of you will be in Berlin. Of course we would have to do this secretly, because we don't want to spoil it for John (;

Thank you for organising all this!

I´ve signed up, added my name to the spreadsheet, and will be in Berlin at the Nerdfighter gathering on the day John´s there and signing books.

Now I would like to help contacting Hank: any advice on how to do that? Who is he supposed to contact and how, as soon as he knows about the project?

And a short idea: wouldn´t it be helpful to have a Ningmaster post this project somewhere "promintent" on the page? For example under "Nerdfighter Projects" or somewhere? Of course there would have to be a "If you are John Green don´t read this"-thingy, but otherwise it would help to make this more public, wouldn´t it?

I hope we get this done together, I think it´s a truely awesome idea!

Sweet, that's awesome. Wah, I really can't wait to see you all in Berlin!!!

 

We're going to have another D-Day next Sunday or this Thursday or both. But we'll post more updates on FB and the forum about it. Basicly we're trying to masscontact him on all the mediums available (FB, Twitter, Tumblr, Youtube, whatever we can think of). Also we're trying to get in touch with others (the Katherine, Micheal Aranda, etc.) who might be able to tell him as well.

Always include, that he can contact us on twitter (@150sign), tumblr (150sign) or via mail ([e-mail]). There is always someone of us online, and will answer as soon as he wrote something.

 

We do have one of the Ningmasters in the forum already. You're right, we should ask him to publish something or spread the word...

Harlo an alle, die noch nicht unterschreiben konnten.

Es gibt noch Möglichkeiten, wie ihr teilnehmen könnt, allerdings sind diese etwas anstrengender, als einfach auf einer der Lesungen unterschrieben zu haben (;
Hier eure Optionen, geordnet (nach meinem Ermessen) nach Schwierigkeitsgrad. Haha.

1. Ihr könnt eure Unterschrift bis einschließlich 30. November digital einsenden. Dafür muss auf einem weißen Blatt Papier unterschrieben  werden (die Unterschrift darf nicht größer als 5 x 5 cm sein). Scannt die Unterschrift sein und sendet sie per Email an: [e-mail] In diesem Fall wäre es am besten, wenn ihr in der Mail euren Namen und das Land reinschreiben könntet. Das hilft später, alle Signaturen zu ordnen.
2. Judith wird zur RingCon fahren und Sheets mitnehmen. Da könnt ihr also auch noch vor Ort unterschreiben.
3. Ihr habt bis einschließlich 20. November die Möglichkeit, in Berlin zu sein? Dann können wir uns treffen und ihr könnt bei mir vor Ort unterschreiben.
4. Wir starten eine Postschleife. Das heißt, ich bekomme eure Adresse mitgeteilt ([e-mail]), die ich natürlich vertraulich behandele. Dann schicke ich Sheets auf die Reise und teile immer die nächste Adresse demjenigen mit, der den Sheet dann weiterschicken muss. Alles muss gesammelt dann bei mir daheim bis zum 25. November sein. Allerdings ist das die schlechteste Möglichkeit. Nicht nur, dass das eine Menge Koordination erfordert (Adressen sammeln, es müssen sich genug Leute melden etc.), sondern besteht hier auch am ehesten die Gefahr, dass etwas bei der Post oder bei jemandem hängen bleibt und alle Unterschriften, die in diesem Prozess gesammelt werden, gehen verloren. Ich würde also davon abraten (;

Wenn ihr irgendwie Informationen braucht oder mit mir in Kontakt treten wollt (bezüglich der Berlin-Möglichkeit), schreibt mir an [e-mail].

Heya,

if you weren't able to sign one of the sheets for the project, there are still a few possibilities left, so everyone gets the chance to participate.

1. You can send your signature digitally (deadline November 30th). Please sign (not bigger than 5 x 5 cm) on a white sheet of paper. Scan your signature and send it to [e-mail]. Please include your name and country, because that will make it easier for us to bring the signatures in some kind of order.
2. Judith will be at RingCon. If you’ll attend it too, you can sign on location.
3. If you have the chance to visit Berlin until November 20th, we could meet and you can sign here.
4. I collect the addresses from some people and we mail the sheet around until it returns to my mailbox (deadline November 25th). But that's by far the most complicated option and it's likely that the sheets could get lost in the mail or something like that. That’s why I’d prefer that you pick one of the other options ^^
