Okay, one thing that's kinda cheesing me off about the show... (I can't remember character's names)
The wife apparently got pregnant. She then found out she wasn't. She lied and said "eeee! it's a boy!" Except, you don't know the sex of the child until about 4-5 months in and even that depends on the baby's position in the stomach.
And now the hubby just told the parents that "she's pregnant, it's a boy"... and she's obviously not 4-5 months pregnant because by then you have a bit of "basketball belly" syndrome. But the parents, even though they obviously had kids and know that you don't get to know the sex a month in, get really excited. Like, they just heard "pregnant" and stopped listening. It's a blatant lie.

Did that bother anyone else at all? I know I'm completely over-reacting because it's just a show... but still. lol

yeah, there are many scientific/factual inconsistensies, for example, on the pilot episode, the wife (terri?) said that if she gained any more weight, her diabetes would come back. which is really a stupid comment because a) type 1 diabetes doesn't go away (that's the skinny people kind) and b) if she had type 2 diabetes, she would be obese and c) she can't have had gestational diabetes (the pregnant kind) because it's her first time being pregnant.

i have a strong feeling that the school in the show teaches 'abstinence only' because really, how could the main guy not know how babies are made? i mean, really?!? i kinda feel like yelling at fox "Really?!? REAlly?!? Seriously?" well, then again, it is on FOX, as opposed to a more liberal station, such as NBC or ABC.

Errrrm... cept for right now I'm watching male teachers and students grind the air with their pelvis' and while singing about sexing women up... at a PTA meeting. haha

And good call on the diabetes thing! Jinkies! They should fact check.
terri, i think it was.
Good call on the diabetes issue. Also, d) she couldn't have diabetes insipidus, because that would not be affected by weight gain (as far as I know).
Not to mention that on last night's episode there were a lot of problems with how long you can take on a snap in football and how long it'd take for the opposing team to break through the offensive line. Other than that I love the show, but I agree there are quite a few inconsistencies.
What's a snap?
Signed,
American football n00b.
A snap is when the player in front of the quarteback (the guy who throws the football) gives the ball to the quarterback.
Ooooh. Okay. Thanks! :)
Ahhh god that bothered me too. I guess I've just watched too much football for me to let that slide. But oh well it was funny so kind of made up for the utter unlikeliness of the whole game =D
I know! That annoys me. Well, SHE annoys me.
i have only seen 1 and a half episodes but i think those comments, diabetis and pregnancy, are suposed to illustrate the stupidity and superficiallity of the wife.
he's the good guy who is taken in and takes everything his wife says at face value. a little over the top, but the show seems to be going for that.
as for abstinence. it seems to making fun and ridiculing that whole thing. i am surprised this is on fox actually.
It bothered me a bit, too, but oh well. It's still a good show.
