Okay, well, I'm new to this site-- not a new Green Day fan, though. I see this page isn't terribly active, but hopefully starting conversation will help! :D

I've been unwittingly been listening to Green Day since I was about 4-5 years old (thanks to my Dad and his College radio stations) when Dookie came out. I had no real concept of bands back then, but I loved listening to whatever my Dad would play-- he was a punk music junkie--well, a music junkie in general (he was a drummer in a garage rock band called The Droogs)-- so I would listen to The Ramones and a whole mess of other bands, but I liked dancing to The Ramones and The Beatles the most before the age of 7. By that time, I heard lots of Nimrod songs, but I still listened to whatever happened to be on the radio, not really caring about finding out who sung what, just that I liked it.

When Warning came out I was starting to grow into my own, and became skate punk/pop punk music obsessive, and I fell in love with Green Day. I've been a giant fangasm over them ever since. They've helped me through a lot of tough times, gave me the best concert experiences of my life, inspired me to better my realism in drawings (to draw them better :P), introduced me to a new world of music (which I've expanded on greatly all by my onesy), and I've met so many interesting people through their forums.

I was a big poster in 2006-2007 on the Idiot Club, and I've been on the GDA forums forever, though, less active since my fangirling extreme years have since cooled dramatically (happens when you pass 20-- and I'm 3 years past that). Anyway, I just thought I'd share <3

Just a LITTLE bit about my Green Day obsession..
They’re my favourite band & always have been.
Ever since I heard “All The Time” when I was 6 years old.
They’ve inspired me to do things.
If it weren’t for Green Day I would of never become involved in music.
If it weren’t for “King For A Day” I would of never learnt trombone, & I wouldn’t be a part of the award winning, PHSSB, one of New Zealand’s top rated Jazz orchestras.
Green Day have changed my life in more ways than I thought possible.
They taught me lessons I’ll never forget.. & not just “Never run in the rain with socks on”
If you walk into my room, Green Day posters line the walls.. Not just the wall, every available surface.. Curtains. bookshelves, even my guitar is a Gibson les Paul standard. The same one Billie Joe uses.
I can play every Green Day song EVER on guitar, most of them on bass & even quite a few on other instuments such as trombone, saxophone, trumpet, piano.
I have every Green Day album ever including live albums, greatest hits & American/Australian releases. Plus a few rare singles.
I have 4 Green Day Shirts, plus caps, belts, badges etc.
I know EVERYTHINK about Green Day, from the names of their wives/childern to the date of lacation of all their live performaces from the last 20 years.
On Saturday 19th of December I went to the Green Day concert in Auckland. It was the best day of my life.
I waited in line 7 hours so I could get front row of the mosh pit.
An experiance I’ll never forget.
Green Day have had the biggest influence on my life out of anyone imaginable.
“some people pray, I turn up the radio”
If it weren’t for Green Day I might now even be here today.
They’ve helped me through some tough times.
GREEN DAY FTW!!

I'm so exited for the live album "Awesome as Fuck". It's supposed to have Cigarettes and Valentines on it. FTW

Saw them live on July 3, '09 -- it was the best concert I've ever been to. They're my favorite band. (:

Hey, I'm trying to spread the word about something if anyone would like to help. My best friend has been trying to get the message about plagiarizing on writing sites our there and how it should be stopped. If you would like to help out the group is called Boycott Fanfiction and Fictionpress! Her name is Katie and she has been trying to get the message to John and Hank right now. If anyone thinks about joining our group and spreading the word, we would really appreciate it! Thanks!
