At my university (in which, I believe, 25% of the students self-identify as LGBT), they're doing some events for Coming Out Day, which is actually October 11, I believe... let me see, I took a picture of the sign. On the day before (October 10) there's a dance, and on the day (October 11) during the day there's an organized coming out (where they set up a closet door and if you want to come out, you step through) and at night there's a showing of Milk and writing of legislators for LGBT rights. I can't wait. ^^

Oh hey, September 23 was Celebrate Bisexuality Day. I never heard a word about it until Craig Ferguson mentioned it on his show. It appears to have been its 10th anniversary too.
Happy belated Bi-Day? Ah, hah hah. (See what I did there?)

On the flip side where English teachers actually saying something about it: My English teacher rocks. Whenever someone says "That's so gay!" She pounces on them and exclaims "EXCUSE ME?! I am not amused; thanks for pissing on my day." Then they fumble and she makes them say "Yes Ma'am!" She is awesome. She is also straight but a supporter, I would say.

She also uttered a quote that I think is my favorite line ever: "You could have sex with a hedgehog for all that I care, as long as I'm not the one washing the sheets." (Followed by laughter.)

That, and: "Evil. Little. Savage. Children." when she refers to the class sometimes. She grew up in the Bronx, so the accent makes it gold.
